Yea, for their comp, they were fundamentally wrong in their approach. They need to stop worrying about what geng will bring, and start playing their own game. Be more silly, be more open, more fluid, take more risks and they need to prioritize zekken. And they need to switch off from a cypher on Haven because that garage set up is horrible.

The round where texture updrafts over and they essentially crunch C has one of the worst cypher set ups. You cannot use a trip like an alarm bot or turret for just info, you need them to get a pick as theyre entering site, but John in C did not have an angle to get a pick for the tripped guy in garage. Plus, they didnt have anyone push down C and hold for info (many teams will do this to get information), and no one to watch garage from CT (this is normal), which is why when the site hit happens, johns only trip is deep into site so it doesnt stop the flood into site, texture is able to easily wrap around because of his smokes and no one watching garage from CT and because they didnt have an aggressive push into C, they were also worried about a C main player. Essentially, with such a shitty set up, they somehow managed to create a way to ideally get crunched 3 way into C. Its just much better to use a cam to watch garage, and have at least 1 cypher trip for garage or main flood imo.

Back on ascent, I remember the kay o ult round where he farms john and tenz on site, the cypher cam is on the wall facing into a link and not on an angle to get any info on mid. If they had a cam set up on the cat, or maybe market which looked into mid, theyd know about the rotation and would just play retake with everyone instead of anchoring against a kay o ult with no smokes.

The ascent game was not good to watch. They played very differently from how teams of that comp fight, but even then basics were all wrong. Having your omen (only flash and smokes) hard anchor to get hit by 5 utils + texture is guaranteed death. Even the round where he got a nice 2k was played bad because nothing to help him when he got paranoid, john runs away after netting while texture is top of gen, and when john swings to get the tenz 2k trade, theyre already in.

Then they played too passively, never pushing mid or b had them stuck until their util gets any info, because that is all they had to rely on. They would try to get tenz or zekken in wine, not for fights but midround info, but that is just too predictable and will get no value if they decide to commit, even the tenz kill on texture was textures fault because he didnt wait for the kayo molly. If they just had zekken or anyone like zelllsis follow up on a drone from sacy to reclear b main and then put aggressive trips instead and get info that no one is here, theyd actually get proper info instead of knowing whats happening 2 seconds before the site hit comes. Example is the round where munchkin gets his ult from B and rotates to A from mid. Sen have 0 info of mid and b main aside from theyre not too aggressive here (but they can be passively holding). This keeps john in A site because he doesnt anticipate the kay o ult, and then when it comes, you get a recon, into a paranoia from geng, and because there was no info of it being A, Tenz didnt smoke A main and the deadlock util didnt work and both get farmed by munchkin.

You cannot forfeit information in a comp with needs you to stop pushes as it happens, because then youll never know where to setup for the push properly.

Lastly, the players were shooting great, but they were never set up for success. I saw this on haven defense too, but zekken is never assisted to be put in an aggressive angle where he can get one and run away, the way geng does for texture. They 3 (maybe 4) man walked mid with no util and texture opping and kept pushing until CT where texture gets a pick and sacy has to drone because he knows there are more. Sen never did that, they gave zekken so much autonomy but couldnt set him up. Even something simple like zekken tiles crunching, walking b with an op, one waying and then getting an aggressive line just never happened.
