it's probably something, EMEA are first world countries, they have money. You can't put APAC level buyout for something (EMEA player).

T2 team getting 2 imports is quite common. Apeks (North Polaris) sign 2 polish players (East: Surge) for "imports".
Only difference are Apeks 2 "imports" are EMEA players, so they don't count in Tier1 VCT.
China imports are normally Korean/Russian players.

academy team won't be able to play in ascension for a reason. If the roster is good enough to qualify to ascension (which they can't), means T1 can actually pick them up straight from academy, or any other team can pick them up (nurture young talent). T1 can also do the EG thing.
