GG PRX lost, Alecks told me this morning

posted 6 months ago

You guys are wrong. It is EDG vs GEN G in the Grand Finals and GEN G leading 2-0 12-0 in last map but EDG pulls off the greatest reverse sweep and win Shanghai.

posted 6 months ago

PRX has the potential to win all of the strongest teams, but also the potential to lose to any of the weakest teams because of how they play. I wouldn't bet on them if the odds are in their favour, it is almost never worth it.

Recency bias. FNC fell off and they just got back their footing. Gen G have been looking good since Madrid and PRX are always consistently top 3 but choking.

I don't think it is just the fan's sentiments, nobody from the 1st seed wants to pick GEN G. I'd say it is a 50-50 battle between GEN and FNC.

Who tf cares. If you can't show up during the matchup it doesn't matter how goated you've been in the past.

DRG 2-3 FPX

Shanghai script leaked

0 trophies and farmers league but you can't deny that PRX had good runs for the past events finishing 2nd - 3rd while your favourite teams are at home streaming for money because they couldn't even qualify 😭

You did realise they played a new comp against GEN in lower finals? Neon on Lotus and Reyna on Icebox.

I bet they were smart enough to spend that 1 week prepping for groups over beating GEN and PRX

posted 7 months ago

Didn't rank them in any order. It'll probably be close games between these teams

I felt like T1 was saving strats after they qualified for Shanghai. I'd give them credit for beating GEN and DRX previously. FUT could potentially be A

posted 7 months ago

S - LEV, TH, GEN
A - G2
B - T1, FPX, FUT
C - DRG

FPX and FUT could potentially be A tier depending on their performance

Aspas is the goat but Lev isn't invincible. Who would've thought G2 would beat them.

On second thoughts you're right the EMEA one looks ass

I recalled Alecks mentioning that Something and F0rsaken do most of the calling in one of the post match interview but when watching their voice comms, Something seems to be more vocal. Guess that may be debatable.

Nevertheless, I still feel Something knows better when to take risks and he has a better read on enemies

It's a never-ending debate if you want to argue who is their best player, it is not all about your aim or kills. For instance, Jinggg wasn't fragging too well when he rejoined their roster, but his movement alone helped to create so much space for the team.

In the same vein, F0rsaken has mainly been playing a support role. He's been setting up kills for Jinggg and Something in Lotus especially on Breach. The fact that he is so flexible with agents also allows the whole team to play different or unorthodox comps. Thinking that fragging / "carrying" = best player is quite shallow imo, it is natural for a duelist to have more freedom in taking duels.

Heres' my take

Aim: Something / Jinggg / F0rsaken
Movement / Entry: Jinggg
Flexibility: F0rsaken
Calling / Decision Making: Something

I don't disagree if you say APAC region is farmers region, but getting 2rd-3rd internationally for the past 3 majors makes them the most consistent team at an international level

posted 7 months ago

Doesn't matter at this point. They consistently get 2nd-3rd place and earn enough to sustain as an organization. Funny how they are the 2nd highest earning organisation with 0 trophies, while the rest of the top 6 have won at least once

China VLR scene is still quite new. Give them some time and we might see some talents emerge

posted 7 months ago

Even if there aren't any Brazilian orgs, don't you guys even support Aspas at all.

posted 7 months ago

They "seem" to be the best because their roster has been the most stable, and they've consistently reached top 3 for the past few events. Of course we know they are chokers and this does not necessarily mean they will win

posted 7 months ago

I agree with the list but it'll be close for some of these teams so I'd group them by tiers instead (regardless of order within each tier)

S - TH, PRX, 100T, LEV
A - FUT, G2, FC, GENG, (EDG)
B - T1, FPX, TRACE

I'd rather teams get more time to prep for the GF tbh

America, EMEA and CN playoffs schedule is kinda questionable. 5 matches over 5 days means having to prep for three BO3, two BO5 games consecutively everyday if you're 2nd / 3rd seed making your run through the lower bracket.

There's at least a 1 week interval before lower finals and grand finals in Pacific.

posted 7 months ago

Are American players overpaid? I feel like players should normally have their own sustainable source of income (i.e via streaming), on top of being paid by the orgs + payouts from VCT earnings / champ bundles + sponsorships.

By your logic

GEN 2 - 0 TLN (Easy game)
TLN 2 - 1 TS
so GEN > TS ?!

I believe miNt takes this one home, not many GC players can match her in terms of mechanical skills. She is also one of the very few GC players capable of climbing to radiant solo
