God bless whoever decided on this, was about time. As much as I love Petra and mimi, one of them had to go for the past year. They were really powerful for a long time but the competition caught up and they plateaud and the role changes just did harm.
Good luck to Akita, she doesn't really have shoes to fill because G2G (and GC) isn't quite known for its duelists but I still hope she does well. Now they have 3 flexible players but they should do their best to put them in proper roles so they avoid the issue of having 3 people playing a different agent every map.

I've been watching GC for about 3 years at this point and T2, especially NA T2 for 2 years now. It isn't difficult to balance. Riot should do a better job at incentivizing people to reach for the stars, I feel like "settling" for a certain tier of play is the worst way to decay as a player, GC or non-GC.
GC just has not consistently been appearing in T2 for the sole reason they're not good enough as a collective, individuals are but the league itself is at least a tier below. Even if they want to be in T2, they are not there yet. I will be honest when I say this I am surprised that we got a whole GC team in T2 as early as we did LOL.
GC also has an issue with having way less people to choose from, so you can have way less prodigies in comparison to regular play and can't form superteams (G2 Gozen fell off). For GC prodigies we should be keeping an eye out for Turkey, as they tend to have some really good players in VCL, VCT and GC. Maybe one day we have 5 Turkish girls in VCL.
GC players earn their place in T2 by being good enough to play in T2. Nora, k0rupt, Bob to name the ones in NA VCL. It's really just that simple.
I have one very simple solution - how about Riot just funds both equally?
This is not a pie where one gets more and the other one gets less, these are two separate pools according to them, they should just be equalized and we have a solution.
To also add onto this, if GC and T2 had approximately equal funds to work with (which I know, wishful thinking), GC players would hesitate a lot less to leave the sphere into mixed teams. Money is an amazing motivator, especially if you rhink you have potential.
As someone who enjoys watching both leagues (especially NA T2), I truly do think they should give more funding to the scene. I get that if you are good you will be picked up, but to become good you still need to find a reason to play this game competitively, and financial support sure helps.

The vibes are not enough to carry a team to Challengers and I hope they consider more initiator players in the scene as I have rarely ever seen her frag when it truly mattered

Vania is fine because she's mechanically the best EMEA GC player, she could roleswap to anything and still be able to shoot equally
G2G has the money to buy good players, they should peep mimier and berryx, they're young and easily teachable, put Vania back on smokes and then go from there, this is the mildest iteration of G2G I've seen, 2025 should have been the year they get into VCL yet here we are
I still think the role changes they made are awful, G2 will cap out at 4th this year in GCC if they keep on playing like this

yeah, still feel the same - I get that Nelo is experienced but when you have that much experience you're nowhere near as moldable as newer GC players (rezq, mimier, berryx to name a few)
For what was supposed to be a superteam last year, they look rather mediocre, can only hope this is due to the fact that they're sorting out their new roles, Bind is looking good though
Because they still meet all the requirements for eligibility. By winning GC NA Series 3 they will qualify.
I have been incredibly sceptic of the -rezq +nelo line, like +smurfette makes so much more sense for what roles they play, and Nelo is just mediocre, in my eyes G2G lost the superteam status for this year

Unironically I think it is just this. These series were absolutely a team effort more than ever before and they looked fairly connected as a team and playing off of each other rather than just playing for 1 person at all times.

But both Falcons AND G2 have the strongest budgets in all of GC, so makes me wonder how are they not the strongest 2 teams in their own circuit by default and not making it to T2.
Am I wrong to have low hopes for EMEA GC? Especially with VCL changes to regions I think now is the least likely they make it in. I'm guessing G2G added Nelo but with the budget G2 has surely there's a way to dig out an even better GC player?
