Based on the rules released by Riot Games EMEA competitive ops, here are the VCT Stage 2 Group Stage drawing procedures:

  1. For the purposes of the draw, teams will be seeded according to the final standings from the VCT Stage 1 Regular Season
  2. Teams will then be grouped by seed and a representative draw slip (i.e. draw slip with “#1 Seeds” written) will be placed into three pools as follows:

Pool 1:
● #1 Seeds (BME & RRQ)
● #2 Seeds (DRX & TLN)
Pool 2:
● #3 Seeds (GEN & T1)
● #4 Seeds (PRX & NS)
Pool 3:
● #5 Seeds (GE & ZETA)
● #6 Seeds (DFM & TS)

  1. Starting with Pool 1, a single draw slip will be selected, with the chosen seeds swapping groups for Stage 2 (Per pool will draw 1 seed which will exchange groups in Stage 2)

  2. This process will then be repeated for Pools 2 and 3, until all teams have been assigned to a group for Stage 2.

Thus, some teams have already got an overview of the groups in Stage 2 as below.

Pool 1: BME & RRQ (Seed 1) || DRX & TLN (Seed 2)

  1. BME (Definitely in the same group w/ TLN)

    • BME, TLN, GEN & NS / T1 & PRX, GE & TS / DFM & ZETA
  2. RRQ (Definitely in the same group w/ DRX)

    • RRQ, DRX, GEN & NS / T1 & PRX, GE & TS / DFM & ZETA
  3. DRX (Definitely in the same group w/ RRQ)

    • DRX, RRQ, GEN & NS / T1 & PRX, GE & TS / DFM & ZETA
  4. TLN (Definitely in the same group w/ BME)

    • TLN, BME, GEN & NS / T1 & PRX, GE & TS / DFM & ZETA

Pool 2: GEN & T1 (Seed 3) || PRX & NS (Seed 4)

  1. GEN (Definitely in the same group w/ NS)

    • GEN, NS, BME & TLN / RRQ & DRX, GE & TS / DFM & ZETA
  2. T1 (Definitely in the same group w/ PRX)

    • T1, PRX, BME & TLN / RRQ & DRX, GE & TS / DFM & ZETA
  3. PRX (Definitely in the same group w/ T1)

    • PRX, T1, BME & TLN / RRQ & DRX, GE & TS / DFM & ZETA
  4. NS (Definitely in the same group w/ GEN)

    • NS, GEN, BME & TLN / RRQ & DRX, GE & TS / DFM & ZETA

Pool 3: GE & ZETA (Seed 5) || DFM & TS (Seed 6)

  1. GE (Definitely in the same group w/ TS)

    • GE, TS, BME & TLN / RRQ & DRX, GEN & TS / T1 & PRX
  2. ZETA (Definitely in the same group w/ DFM)

    • ZETA, DFM, BME & TLN / RRQ & DRX, GEN & TS / T1 & PRX

    • DFM, ZETA, BME & TLN / RRQ & DRX, GEN & TS / T1 & PRX

Here's the explanation why Omega group placement has been confirmed on Liquipedia.

Please note that the 4-way tiebreaker is when you have found team #1, then #2-#4 will be determined by the 3-way tiebreaker procedure.

In this case, if a tiebreaker occurs between RRQ (If RRQ lose 0-2), T1, TLN, and NS in the first stage then the steps to be taken are as follows:

RRQ win:

  • 3 way tie between T1, TLN, NS decided by H2H Series

#2 TLN (2-0)
#3 T1 (1-1)
#4 NS (0-2)

RRQ lose:

  • 4 way tie between RRQ, TLN, T1, NS

OVRL Map Diff:
#1 RRQ +2 (LOCK #1)
#2 - #3 T1 +1
#2 - #3 NS +1
#4 TLN +0

Remember: If ties reduced to less than 3 teams after this process, tiebreakers for respective number of teams must be used to break ties among them.

  • 3 way tie between T1, TLN, NS decided by H2H Series

#2 TLN (2-0) (LOCK #2)
#3 T1 (1-1) (LOCK #3)
#4 NS (0-2) (LOCK #4)

I just got confirmation from VCT Pacific talent that there is a slight difference between the global and Pacific 3 way tie rules as follows:

Pacific 3 Way Tie Rules:

  • Head-to-head Match Series
Teams with two matchup head-to-head advantage automatically receives first of the group. Tie-breakers for the remaining two teams are determined using the above head-to-head tiebreaker process.
If no team has a two matchup head-to-head advantage (all Teams are 1-1 head-to-head), then proceed to next step of the 3-way tie-breaker process.
  • Map differential
  • Round differential
  • Head-to-head Map Differential on Opponent's Map Pick (Pacific Only)
  • Head-to-head Round Differential on Opponent's Map Pick (Pacific Only)

At Liquipedia, CGZ already had green mark as winner of group A before round 3 (TS vs CGZ & NXG vs RVL) begin

Let me make it clear
Before the game at 10:30am GMT+7, i already asking to referee about the tiebreaker and he said:

Two-way tie

  • Head-to-head Match Score
  • Head-to-head Round differential
  • Round differential

Three-way tie

  • Head-to-head Match Series (CGZ win H2H vs RVL&NXG)
Teams with two matchup head-to-head advantage automatically receives first of the group. Tie-breakers for the remaining two teams are determined using the above head-to-head tiebreaker process.
If no team has a two matchup head-to-head advantage (in example, all Teams are 1-1 head-to-head), then proceed to next step of the 3-way tie-breaker process.
  • Round differential
  • Tiebreaker Bo1 match
