To my understanding, after ascension they had to keep a core of 3 players, meaning that after fnatic bought out kaajak (which depending on how much they paid, i dont blame apeks), they could only make one more roster change. Rather than dropping hype , they instead dropped soulcas for batujnax, who had a 1.00 rating in Turkey T2. Realistically Apeks could have gone into apeks with the core of molsi, soulcas, and avova + a better duelist than flor (let's say penny since they got him eventually) and an upgrade over hype (olizera since they got him eventually). Then going into stage 1 they could have also upgraded avova and soulcas and form a pretty competitive roster while still being a budget team. I don't watch any EMEA T2 but there HAS to be better guys than governor, hype, etc.
They trolled this year super hard. Kept hype for kickoff, replaced kaajak with a game changers player, got batujnax of all people out of all the Turkish talent out there, kept avova the ENTIRE year, etc.
inevitable from the start unfortunately. W penny for raising his stocks, he should be on eg or c9 next year, potentially even a better team
