Regardless, making the statement that they wouldn't beat NRG even once is still ridiculous. Would NRG be heavily favored? Yes. But doesn't mean they couldn't lose. These teams are composed of humans, not gods. At least that was the case last I checked.

You could say the same about the guard.

posted about 2 years ago

Lets not exaggerate. The guard literally beat them last year prior to the first masters.

I'm not sure why you're pretending we haven't seen Tenz do well in a lan setting.

look who's talking. LOL

I can honestly see it being true because his fiance literally has cancer. Must be hard to focus on the game with what he has going on his personal life.

No, talking about league of legends, T1 vs KT in the classic telecom war

I don't think it makes sense to be that confident in the guard after that one performance. The atmosphere at the summit-style tournaments is way too relaxed. I could still see them having real nerve issues at a normal lan. Hopefully that won't be the case.

China has two slots for masters tokyo. 0% chance that they don't get slots for champions.

The anime is mediocre, the manga, which they extensively changed in making the anime, is amazing.

People are gonna stupidly say OMEGA LUL NOT A CHANCE. But yes, if he chose to grind, took it seriously, and was given an opportunity, it would be possible for him to do well. Won't happen though.

Well, she's definitely not wrong. But I don't think tweeting about it helps much. Any player that's too brain-dead/immature to realize this on their own isn't gonna be swayed by tweets. Would be better to reach out personally in dms or irl ideally.

Valorant community isn't a monolith. Don't expect some vlr users to be representative of all NA fans.

His views are well documented. I'm not gonna play the educate/argue with the misogynist apologist game. Goodbye.

My friend, I'd seriously rather be down-bad for the rest of my life than be anything like tate or espouse any of his views regarding women. He is disgusting.

posted about 2 years ago

His main priority isn't the success/popularity of valo esports in korea.

posted about 2 years ago

Can't remove t1. Even if the roster is trash, they can improve or eventually make changes and improve. It's the most popular e-sports org in Korea by a large margin because of its' history in brood war and league of legends. Not having them in franchising would be a mistake if you eventually want more korean eyes on valo.

The worst team in the tournament? I think they might be lol.

posted about 2 years ago

People were talking about on sean gares' stream the other day. Not gonna look through all that footage to find it, but everyone knows the T1 salaries in NA are inflated. That's no secret.

Apparently, he's earning 3 to 4x what he would have made staying at loud. Literally makes no sense to stay in that case. Country and national pride be damned if I'm gonna be making 1/3rd or 1/4th for doing the exact same job.

Single top team in each of the APAC/EMEA challenger leagues. Top 2 teams in each of the Americas challenger leagues.

posted about 2 years ago

I'm not defending the 90% take. That's too much. But I do believe they could handle most(more than half) of the EMEA teams currently.

posted about 2 years ago

yea, definitely

posted about 2 years ago

Well, considering the fact that loud made franchising, it isn't really a new challenge as they would have been in LA playing the americas franchise league either way. But it's more money most likely, which is just as valid as a reason to go anyway.

People assess and speculate about teams and how they would do against other teams they haven't played yet all the time. The idea that there's something wrong with that is moronic. It's literally what all the analysts are doing when they're setting expectations going into these tournaments. Could it be wrong? Sure, but that doesn't mean we throw up our hands in the air and choose to not think about it.

posted about 2 years ago

My reading comprehension skills are fine. What happens at tokyo doesnt matter in the here and now. At the moment, in current form, EDG would slap most of the EMEA teams, which is the point of my comment. It seems your comprehension skills are lacking.

posted about 2 years ago

Who says they'll only be playing against themselves? They'll literally have all the APAC league teams in seoul and korean teams. China/Korean teams scrim each other all the time in the league scene. I expect nothing to be different in valorant.

posted about 2 years ago

That's a good point. But I'd still rather not rate a team that we haven't seen in months that highly.

posted about 2 years ago

Fnatic kept 3, liquid kept 2, but two of their new players came from the same team. Not much of a difference imo.

posted about 2 years ago

Overestimating teams we haven't seen play in months. Like we all did with liquid.

posted about 2 years ago

They don't care, they just wanna hate. Can't complain too much tho. NA fans would do the same if positions were reversed with a top EU team.

posted about 2 years ago

Fnatic? lol, we haven't learned from liquid i see.

Nah, waste, china has too much talent

posted about 2 years ago

The form of teams 4 months from now has literally nothing to do with form atm

posted about 2 years ago

If the chinese player base explodes to even 1/4th of the size as league's player-base, it'll quickly make no sense to have them be part of APAC. So they've given them their own franchise league and hoping valorant does well in china. Their teams might suck atm, but they'll catch up eventually. Makes sense imo.

posted about 2 years ago

Not sure about fnatic. But pretty sure some of that confidence in C9 comes from the cores experience together prior to valorant in CSGO. Might also be true of fnatic players, don't know their history. Either way, fans will always over-hype the teams that they're cheering for regardless of what reality is. You're gonna find more EMEA/NA fans here than Br which results in more over-estimation of those teams as compared to Brazilian/Latam/APAC teams. It is what it is. No reason to get upset about it.
