I mean there are 4 months of offseason left, it wouldn't make sense for an org economically to sign players this early. They are in the trial phase and even if they have someone in mind they are likely gonna offer a contract in oct-november.

So let's make some assumptions to see where they can balance their book a little. OpTic Hecz said that the average salary in VCT is 30k a month per player. He might have exaggerated but still it might be around that figure.
Zekken: Wasn't a big name when he joined SEN but he still was regarded as one of the biggest prospect and already had the opportunity to show his talent at intl. events. Also, syyko was the head coach at that time who probably wanted zekken at all costs. So I am assuming at least 20k.
TenZ: The most popular pro by far and carries the SEN marketing and social interactions. But he had a disappointing year prior and had to renegotiate his contract. Since the rumors were that SEN were thinking about other options if they couldn't come to an agreement, I think TenZ took a pay cut at the end. Still he's the big dawg so assuming 25k .
Sacy & pANcada: These 2 are the trickiest to guess since we have no idea how the salaries are like in top BR teams. But LOUD is a pretty big org in BR and the core of sacy and saadhak left VK to make a heavyweight roster with them. So, I think they were on good contracts already but SEN offered even better, also they had just won the world champs. My assumption is that they are the highest earners on SEN. I am assuming 30k each.
With C9 reportedly going with minimum salaries for their players(5k/month for each player) and 100T also downsizing massively, it's looking like all the NA teams will follow the trend. If you are the valorant manager for SEN, how do you reduce their expense and keep this team still competitive and socially relevant so that their popularity doesn't falter? Let's say you have to reduce 50k in player salaries. What changes would you make?
There's no guarantee that all 5 of them will get a franchised team. If they break up now then it's over for TGRD guys getting a franchised spot, RIOT will just fall back into their original decision and the tgrd guys will have no bargaining power, also T1 orgs would want to get them as a full team. They need to stay together at least until Riot finds a new solution and they find a new team.
SEN were smoking PRX, FNC and EG in scrims, that's as good as it gets if you look at the potential of that team. But tbh If I were him and if I didn't have any bias towards any of the teams I choose NRG. I feel like NRG would be a more comfy team to play on. SEN is always at the center of attention, people will keep talking about him if things go south. Also, NRG has a full NA team that will be easier to work with, he will have more authority on that team, a proven coach to work with. Safer choice is NRG for sure but if he can bring a trophy to SEN and bring out the best of TenZ and zekken, that will cement his legacy.

You can't compare this with contract jails, ofc riot can't intervene there cz it doesn't affect their esports directly. It's between the player and the org. Contract jails are nowhere the same, also the purpose of the ascension is 'ascending' to the league! are you lost?

Like ask the other orgs that participated in ascension last year to bid for the players and let the players choose the most suitable offer for them. Work with the players and approve the bid that agrees to everything and passes all the checks. It's such a no brainer!
