Still upsets me the old LOUD core died for this and Leviathan.
TBF it was never that bad anyway. On a good day EDG are really good, just like PRX. Both teams can have weak days and that's just what seemed to happen. EDG turned up and PRX we're not having their best day.
You scare me by being nice on VLR. How many lives have you taken IRL?
I didn't watch the first 2 maps, stats look like SEN would have won map 2, did they just get outplayed strategically?
They ain't even going to get through the Lower Bracket.
Honestly the cheating is nowhere near as bad as people make out. Just because the anti cheat is shit people assume anybody dumpstering them is cheating whereas in Val everyone knows the anti cheat is decent so they immediately accuse of smurfing. Even in CS it's normally smurfing.
I don't see it personally. The batman of CS is too unique to have a doppelganger
OP is such a spaffmongering fakeflagger. Just log off already, you won't be missed
You know that not all EU countries are in the European Union right?
Like most of the Balkans aren't EU member states but are clearly EU countries.
EU stands for Europe you illiterate. Otherwise UK, Norway and Switzerland aren't EU which they all clearly are.
That being said they only lost 3 series in total the entirety of 2023
Had to double check and my man's right. LOUD is the only Americas team to beat them since.
Swear Heretic's dumpstered G2 last time with a sub.
Genuinely have normally preferred masters events. Normally seem a lot more involved and less long winded
I feel like Champs have always been underwhelming ngl
CS is the biggest it's ever been. Valorant is losing players more than CS lately.
Bare in mind the average vlr user is similar to the average in server player. Entirely brain-dead morons who will argue over anything and love to tear people down over the most minor things.
It's a Riot game, the community is on the same level as LoL.
My guy Vita are probably 4th of the EMEA teams attending and a fair few would put NaVi above them.
Lev are meant to be Americas top dog atm.
In my lifetime the only time I've heard people regularly discuss Olympics was when we hosted, otherwise people watch the opening ceremony then stop caring. Speaking for England ofc, some other countries it may be a big deal but it really isn't over here. F1, Rugby and Tennis get way more discussion than Olympics usually, let alone Football which dominates all sports discourse here.
It's probably more because the teams that qualified don't have the biggest fan bases either so the fan trash talk is less too.
Like in EMEA, Fnatic is big and FUT has a big regional following and Heretic's have definitely grown but nobody really cares about Vita. In Americas I feel like Sen is the only team with a large fanbase that made it in altho I assume Kru has a big regional fanbase. I imagine China is all about EDG and FPX, the other 2 aren't exactly big internationally.
APAC is probably the region with the biggest teams for once as everyone knows GenG, DRX, PRX and Talon likely have a regional following I assume.
I don't get why everyone is going mad for this Olympics. I feel like normally nobody gives much of a shit about it, must be the memes.
Confused by Russia dominating Valve, is this from Dota?
Honestly I think they're just a mid table team. Theyve had a fair few unfortunate matchups.
Both remaining matches seem really hard to call. G2 always surprise internationally and I have 0 idea what to expect from Talon.
Probably because EDG was over hyped for ages and consistently heartbroke people so they're overcorrecting and rating them low. Kind of like how people did with DRX.
Absolutely delusional. Fnatic lucked out on their best player having to drop out for a while and they picked up a prodigy to replace him in the meantime. Fnatic just can't stop grabbing top tier initiator talents.
Unironically early Jett meta was more fun to watch than Chamber meta.
Chamber was so boring because it was just unpunishable peeks or super defensive angle holding.
Gin, Rum, Ale or West Country Cider. Too many good options to be more specific.
Nah don't count them out so early. It was clear going into this finals that it could go either way.
For real, CS feels like old modern warfare lobbies whereas Val is normally either muted or it's one or 2 kids reeeing about "not having support" when they run on site and die in the first 15 seconds of every round.
Can't say for certain until the match is over, but it's not looking good for you.
Riots response to Russia in Ukraine basically killed off the region and any orgs interests in the game. Pretty evident when EMEA doesn't have a single CIS franchising org.
Riot missed their chance to try and get CIS to convert from CS
If they're better how did they lose 2 games in a row without getting a map when it mattered most?
It's not about how you start, it's about how you finish.
Heretics deserved the finals more than anyone they beat.
At least they make second unlike 100ChequeThieves
This just might be my new favourite VLR post. Died laughing.
Tbf I am surprised EMEA is still maintaining parity with other regions when Valorant doesn't seem to be doing well at all in the region.
Not trying to downplay anything, but Valorant is really not that popular a game in EU, the entire eSports infrastructure is still around CS heavily and anecdotally I find it rare to meet people who actively play Valorant but nearly everyone who has a PC has at least played CS. I don't know how popular Valorant is in other regions but it seems like it's gotten pretty big in China, Japan and NA. I have 0 frame of reference for how big Val is compared to competitors in Brazil.
NGL I didn't have high hopes for the last 2 matches but TH are here in the grand finals. At this point anything can happen.
I'd say EMEA is similar to APAC tbh. Bottom 5 are practically never worth talking about.
Traditionally eSports regions are Brazil, NA, EU and Far East (Sometimes split between Korea and China if player base is big enough).
In Americas it's lessened because you have NA and Brazil both of which have historically been developed for eSports as typically separate regions so it's effectively doubling the player pool for that league.
Whoever takes it I hope it's not a 3-0. Also hope people aren't toxic on vlr about it but you know what is actually going to happen.
Imagine getting dominated by a Fortnite player. Wild scenes
