The only way SEN don’t make champs is if they lose their next two matches and LEV also lose their next two matches.

I think G2 have to make top 3 though, because a win will put them at 11 points and we’ll have a SEN v 100T elim game. The loser of that elim game would advance over G2 (SEN up by one point, 100T tied in points but wins H2H). If G2 lose, they face 100T in the elim game and still have to make top 3.

Pretty sure this is right but let me know if I misunderstood something.

If you’re looking at the standings on vlr, those were last updated before Stage 2 started. Liquipedia has the current standings, with PRX/GEN/DRX as the top 3 and TLN/TS tied for 4th.

posted 5 months ago

not if they get 4th in playoffs and FNC get 5th/6th

posted 5 months ago

the only playoff matches that would matter for points are the first two, after that it wouldn’t make a difference

LCQ was in July last year so teams aren’t really being eliminated any earlier than before, maybe just by a couple weeks. The bigger issue is still the fact that champs is in August, but Leo said it will be in October for 2025 so that should make the schedule better.

posted 5 months ago

that SEN are now guaranteed playoffs? it’s not even updated on liquipedia

posted 5 months ago

How does beating TS secure champs? They’d have 15 points, and it’s still possible for PRX to get 4th place in playoffs with 16 points.

posted 5 months ago

is that not what vlr is for

no longer possible

I wanted to know what the win rate is on teams' map picks, so I compiled the stats for Bo3s so far this year.

Pacific: 52.3% (20-16 Kickoff, 36-36 Stage 1, 13-11 Stage 2)
EMEA: 51.5% (18-18 Kickoff, 38-34 Stage 1, 12-12 Stage 2)
Americas: 49.1% (18-18 Kickoff, 31-41 Stage 1, 7-3 Stage 2)
China: 49.3% (22-14 Kickoff, 33-39 Stage 1, 11-15 Stage 2)
Masters: 50.0% (16-12 Madrid, 20-24 Shanghai)

Overall: 50.2% (295-293)

Results of international matches with a 2-map ban advantage:

  • LOUD 0-3 OPTC
  • PRX 2-3 FPX
  • LOUD 3-1 OPTC
  • FNC 3-0 EG
  • PRX 1-3 EG
  • GEN 2-3 SEN

The team with the ban advantage has only won 2/6 times.

^ they’ve only played ascent once this whole year and it was a loss against G2

let’s skip the bo7 and go straight to a bo11

don’t forgot that they also haven’t won a match against Pacific

to be fair, she was born in London. not everyone learns to speak their ancestors’ language fluently (assuming she even has living relatives who grew up in China)

posted 7 months ago

yeah that’s kinda the point. i’m assuming it’s better for them to wake up a bit early than to stay up late. and if they have to work in the morning then they probably couldn’t afford to stay up late with the london time anyway

posted 7 months ago

not really, at least if it’s in New York people in Pacific can watch in the morning (starting at like 6am in Korea/Japan). if it’s in london then you either have to start super early, which messes things up for Americas viewers, or force Pacific viewers to stay up past midnight

posted 7 months ago

New York would be a pretty good time zone for everyone if they start the matches at 5pm EST

posted 7 months ago

isn’t it kinda impossible to know? cause if LEV wins tonight and gets paired with TH next then your prediction can’t happen

idk brush your teeth probably

this is unironically the most pedantic thing i have ever read

Sage has already been picked though so they’ve fulfilled their Chinese agent quota

the title really made me think someone cared about our personal struggles

2021 SEN would still count

i didn’t really get the hype tbh. the movies aren’t bad but i just couldn’t get myself to care about the conflict or most of the characters

the max score on the PSAT is 1520, plus it doesn’t always translate super well. i did better on the SAT than i did on the PSAT

do we have chinese viewership data for CS2?

posted 7 months ago

probably around the same time the Tokyo games started

posted 7 months ago

i always assumed a core was three players, like victor/crashies/fns moving to NRG or saadhak/less/aspas staying on LOUD after 2022

posted 7 months ago

yeah, loud need to win 6 more in a row for it to be a tie, otherwise G2 advance

posted 7 months ago

i absolutely will not

posted 7 months ago

yes that is always how it was supposed to be, so that the final result will just be as if everyone played in one big round robin group

i don’t have a problem with this, i just wish they flipped the stage 1 and stage 2 matches

China has hosted LoL events that were streamed on twitch so

posted 7 months ago

they locked first seed 5 days ago

posted 7 months ago

my guess is it would take place on the first day of playoffs before the regular matches, and they’d set the schedule so the omega match takes place in between the tiebreaker and the alpha match

posted 7 months ago

they get an extra point for being first seed from their group

posted 7 months ago

they can’t

posted 7 months ago

dude are you ok? you’ve made like 10 anti-buzz posts in the past hour

posted 7 months ago

loud need to win the series, not just one map, so they would never throw

posted 7 months ago

why does everyone keep bringing up the 13-5 or 13-4 scoreline

posted 7 months ago

?

If SEN did win 13-0 next map, G2 would only have to lose like 10-13 10-13 for SEN to pass them

posted 7 months ago

C9 is definitely not guaranteed. if they lose while G2 and NRG both win, C9 are out. map/round differential doesn’t matter in this case
