No not exactly. Basically each team picks a map, they play them and if a team manages to win their pick and the other team pick the game ends so it's 2-0. If after the two maps it's 1-1 then it's played out like a regular bo5

So Fokus and KRU ended up tying 2-1 on games, KRU won the H2H since they beat Fokus, but Fokus had a better round difference throughout the whole tournament. So after the game everyone thought Fokus was out because everyone believed H2H to be the tiebreaker for 2 way ties and so did KRU players. But a couple minutes after apparently KRU was told they didn’t make it and the tiebreaker was now round difference which qualified FOKUS. And finally a couple hours later there was another announcement saying the tiebreaker was H2H so KRU was making it through again

First of all if it was they would forbid Russian players to play vct too, and second of all they would not have announced it in the first place. This feels more like them trying to do it but having to call it off because it was too hard logistically
