I can't see them in the lower bracket on the Americas Kickoff page, is it just me?
Fair enough, I can't read.
Still, it's not 4 imports
Oderus is the coach and Florescent doesn't count as an import
Also Saadhaak won so your argument just falls apart
I mean what did you expect betting on C9
finding a "GOAT" for Valorant is not possible in my eyes. With all the metas, introduction of the partnership system, Esports Winter, only 3 internationals and all of that, it's hard to see players be good across multiple metas (there are outliers and sure, aspas is one of them)
I think the best we can do is have a "best player of the year" and maybe down the line we can try and name a Valorant GOAT but as of right now, I don't have one
(but Boaster is MY GOAT)
I definitely see where you're coming from, and I agree to an extent. He did and still does put up numbers that are absurd. but I still think he is a bit overrated. imo he doesn't deserve to be put in "best in the world" convos anymore
I think by definition he's overrated because people rate him as "the best in the world", "the greatest of all time" when he is (in my eyes) neither.
he is insane, he did drop 47 in one map, but he isn't not "the greatest of all time", hence why people think he's overrated (even if by a smidge)
Being late on payments to players, not putting out enough content...a lot of things or a combination of them

I mean you're not wrong
I mean you're not wrong...
see this is where I'm confused, they let it float past the 1st round of bans and instead target ban
what title said. I'm genuinely curious because I thought they had one but seeing their Ascension map bans I don't think that's the case
My guy really tried sneaking in yay there
(this is just banter, I love yay)
at the event no, they played it regionally iirc
you can always listen to the desk or look it up and not be lazy but who am I to judge
He's from Colombia iirc
Watch one of his interviews from VCT Americas with saadhaak and someone else
You know. I completely forgot about that. Fair point
Lose map 1 -> Win a close map 2 -> dominate map 3
Is anyone able to stop this gambit? I heard of possible counterplay ideas like playing a bo5 or tossing map 1, but y'all let me know your thoughts
Why is twitch and youtube chat so cringe?
no seriously do these guys have nothing to do but spam ragebait or watch with eyes closed?
I had nothing better to do
Worth it for round 23
My bad gang
My point still stands
Masters Madrid was 3 years later. This is a discussion about 2021 only.
I'm agreeing with you, even if Gambit lost in the grands, I still take them over an ACEND team that achieved nothing before and nothing after
And hey, Gambit disbanding was (as far as I'm aware) not their fault
rest of 2021 = international events before champs
sen won the 1st ever lan? cool. what did they do after? vanished
I still take GMB over ACE even if they got 2v5'd, two finals appearances speak for themselves
Ain't no way my guy said ACEND
Gambit won a Masters and were in grand finals of champs
Sentinels won the 1st masters but fell off a cliff and got grouped at champs
Acend did win champs but were invisible throughout the rest of 2021
Considering Champions was just another masters with a yellow coat of paint at this point, I'll take the team with 2 finals appearances
another one came to mind, NA'VI vs EDG Masters Tokyo.
KangKang OP Masterclass
FNC vs LOUD map 5 LOCK//IN
or just the entire match for all I care, that was a gigabanger
AMER: Bren and Sideshow
EMEA: observer keybinds are funny + replays
APAC: stage design
CN: player walkouts, that shit is so fire
realistically, I'd love for FNC to win champs and solidify themselves as one of the best teams in Valorant history
....however my heart is with KRU
oh yeah and I don't want SEN to win, they had their time to shine (+ I'm biased)
if so they'd have to get top 2, and even then it's iffy because you have the elephant in the room of FNC 2 trophies to GENG 1
gotcha, thanks for the correction
if you meant 2020-2021, I think more reasonable would be to say a year and a half, but otherwise you're right
if they win champs I think they should be considered as better than 2023 FNC
iirc he was often playing 2nd duelist in reykjavik like reyna to shazam's jett + cNed had a stronger year as a pure entry duelist, so arguably TenZ had only couple of months of duelist play
I might be wrong tho
EMEA's FPX couldn't go because visa issuesd iirc so there was 15 teams, and FNC had 2 substitutes
thank you, I usually suck at lists (it's my 1st imte)
slight adjustments based on my gut and bias
good idea
I loved them in Shanghai
and how exactly is it "worthless"? this is arguably the most competetive champions event we have seen yet? surely you're not mad that NRG didn't make it...right?
hardly "making history" when sen did it first (not a sen fan just an incosistency)
Which flair should I start rocking for champs that won't make all my takes invalid?
