In the first year of VCT, KOI faced financial difficulties because it was acquired by Infinite Reality (Rogue), which was struggling financially at the time. For 2024, KOI left Infinite Reality and joined forces with Mad Lions and Movistar Riders to form Movistar KOI. However, this merger didn’t take place until January 2024, leaving insufficient time to recruit top-tier players. Additionally, Rogue complicated matters by signing the 2023 players and coach to unsustainable contracts. This year, with the combined resources of all three organizations and new sponsorships, they have better financial backing and more funds allocated to the Valorant team. Also, some of the existing contracts are set to expire.
