Wait so rage couldn't get an extension ( which is impossible from the condition you've just pointed out) , for an out of a sudden decision that riot made?

Yeah I think rage really had their hands tied.

Hot take, I think riot pacific is really a bad business partner for RAGE. This information if true actually says a lot more about riot than RAGE to me. If I am RAGE's CEO I'll be putting Jake sin's head on a pike right now 🤣

Assuming that all of this is true ofc

Losing against talon and sayf's spanking 💀

posted 4 months ago

Idk but they are playing right now, or unless they play under a name that has no connection to zeta ( ignore the name )

posted 4 months ago

Now I'm sad lol Fav just released 2 of their players and cgz basically threw away their cards ( flax DH and more importantly hyunmin). I think the competition going to advanced stage phase 1 will be much lower than sp2's advanced stage.

I'm also afraid of the implications of the mongolz playing in vcj

I think this time bc swell will definitely qualify to main stage and yowamu will finally have his redemption 🔥

posted 4 months ago

One of the ways you can play in Tier 2 ( in my case is VCJ) is winning through premiers. But does a tier 1 teams' academy roster apply?

I'm saying this because " ZETA Academy A" has been killing it in Japanese premiers going 5-0 and the scores aren't close either

https://tracker.gg/valorant/premier/standings?region=AP_JAPAN

If the conditions are right they actually have a chance to earn the chance to qualify to VCJ.

So the problem has to be riot's scheduling and scale. The 1 month gap is clearly not enough. But riot can't forward the schedule much more as that would make sp1 pointless(if they aren't already).

Let's be real, an indonesian or Indian getting a visa to japan will take a long time unless someone hand over bribes 😅. So in the first place , the decision to hold ascension in Tokyo is already a bad move.( counter point : prx can get the papers done going to masters berlin while bren esports couldn't , so the orgs can also be a factor when we're talking about visa
Source : https://www.vlr.gg/35778/bren-esports-unable-to-make-masters-berlin )

And also riot pacific wants to save money 😅

posted 4 months ago

Tbf you don't want to hand over your private details to riot and sen , you'd hand that over to the police😅

posted 4 months ago

It sounds to me like RAGE is the primary scapegoat here 😔. And I don't think the response will be that heavyhanded from other parties , they are one of the biggest TOs in japan (or the more popular ones) for a reason😅. Companies have come back unscathed from mishaps like this.

posted 4 months ago

I think RAGE has no say in how riot manages their format. I mena, RAGE can make double elims in VCJ , so why can't they do that in Ascension, that alone already tells that this is purely riot's decision and RAGE have no power to change that.

RAGE has more than enough venues and facilities to meet the demands bro, the venue handles the most if not one of the most visitors in APAC. And I'd say the same about equipment to. Server has to be a riot's fault because server is one of riot's asset , for a company that's so secretive to the point of not wanting to organize a masters with a 3rd party TO, you would expect they're also being secretive about their servers right? ( I'm talking about the 1 hour technical pause).

This is not the first time RAGE has organized an offline event and clearly the incident in Grand finals is abnormal. I mean they got 1 month to fix this issue ( I believe it's already fixed , this is riot we're talking about) and riot chose to change location? Yeah I don't think the issue here is about RAGE

Hot take, I think this decision actually hurts RAGE more than Riot, because RAGE reputation has been stained by riot's false promises

posted 5 months ago

Lol you can't pin this shit onto RAGE ( Japanese TO) , the format is completely riot's decision.

💀 the few moments where translating with Google translate still felt funny af

I actually think riot is to blame here.

Rage ( the japanese TO) mentioned about unable to maintain :

  1. Streaming availability(?) ,Tbh i have no clue what this means. It could mean from lack of proper equipment( not likely) , to streaming rights issue (clash between soop and YouTube? But I can't see how Rage is affected by this. Etc)

  2. Restrictions on tournament format ( you can cross this out, this is riot's decision)

  3. "potential risk of a deterioration of the playing environment for participating teams" ( its probably visa issues)

Regarding visa issues, you also have to think about the orgs participating, maybe it could be the orgs who are unable to competently get the visa in time ( remember bren incident in masters berlin)

In short; I think riot promised to much and rage is just the half scapegoat 🤣, however the condition is too vague (either by purpose or not ) to point fingers at anyone

Prior to riot selling bundle, esports is just a marketing tool. But now it's just a marketing tool with extra cash cow(bundles) 🤣

60 ( 12 x 4 leagues + 16 "parts" more for those who qualed to champs) x 300k = 18M

I might be pedantic but salaries aren't just going to people who make the skins, there's a lot more people to pay , and it's not just salaries ( don't ask me what the other costs are, I did an all-nighter on my accounting and forgot them all lol). So yeah I think the cost might not be that high as I made them to be, but it's still high enough for riot to be concerned( speculation).

" " And about the orgs, they do need that money to make this profitable." "
By that point it's no longer profitable, they're just being kept afloat by riot.

Maybe riot tried to allocate that money to somewhere else, no matter how you see it investing them into orgs like mibr, eg and bleed just doesn't make sense.

Riot could be adjusting to the audience(maybe there is a downward trend?) and probably adjust the investments riot should make

at this point, I'm just stating theory as to why riot does this lol

posted 5 months ago

(Nvm the math is wrong , for those who have read this initially)(wait maybe my math is right 😭)

"Sales" aren't net profit so we need to add cost. And the costs are surely ain't cheap. So we can just assume riot doesn't make a lot. This isn't league.

Profit are meant to :

  1. If you want to convince shareholders that you are doing good, better pay those dividends(assuming that valirant is handled by separate company , but my point is This money is going to owner's pocket for good or bad reasons)

  2. Or you can reinvest onto valorant back , but DEFINITELY NOT on blackhole orgs.

There is no point in flushing your money to clubs that are essentially blackholes. They ain't producing any content soon and even if they do don't expect a sentinels level of popularity.

Riot is a company , not a charity, I dont know what y'all are expecting when riot's said "partnerships", but my dumbass can guarantee its not sunshine and rainbows type of partnerships. You can't just expect sentinels to carry your club if you can't make money. I think riot partnerships environment is suffering from free rider problem ( look it up its a real term, although it's a bit of stretch(?) in this case)) and this is how riot intends to solve the issue.

But hey , this is just a theory from a marketing major kid who thinks he's smart 🤣🤣🤣😭

posted 5 months ago

tldr;

  1. Bundles are expensive
  2. Not all orgs are sentinels
posted 5 months ago

other regions' well being can influence things in VCJ, so as long as it still concerns VCJ I'll be sticking here lol

posted 5 months ago

Oh ok thx I'm a bit concerned regarding the depth of the survey , but if this is a high school project + the teacher isn't being strict about it then there's nothing to be worried about I guess 😂😂

posted 5 months ago

I'm gonna get flamed for this but, Riot kinda did the right thing here.

There aren't many partnered orgs who makes tons of views anyways. Aside from SEN , ZETA , 100T and few others, there aren't a lot of money to be made off their contents.

You don't wanna " sell new gun skin ( DFM phantom skin for example), because :

  1. Not every team has a lot of fans ( who goes out their way to buy bleed bundle?)
  2. Unless you market your bundle well , Skins are seen as expensive especially when your audience plays this game for free.

To me, this seemed like riot finally stop being silly and handling this realistically. Tha's not to say things will stay the same. To quote from Anonimotum :

"From Sheep Esports, we contacted Riot Games, and they made the following comment: “We adjust the team payment structure every year."

posted 5 months ago

I think it's probably not wanting to anger the public(people hate expensive shit unless you market them well) , and ( purely opinion) I don't think many watch org's contents anyway ( except from SEN , 100T , and other content org) .

Ok I've done my part. Mind if I ask is this a high school project or University project? How strict/lenient is the teacher?
