I'm not an expert on this, I'm just putting my 2 cents in on why they need an open recruitment.

this will probably a looooong ass open recruitment. Split 2 is still on the way, however there are only 4 teams remaining.

As we can see split 2 have not finished yet and teams like Reject (BRIAN Akame and Gangpin are out) and Varrel(Xnfri , Kayle and Blackwiz are out) have announced their roster moves already and I'm assuming the rest will follow.

ZETA will be looking clooooosely at this split's closure and look for any roster moves. Assuming that Riddle actually lose Split 2 or even Ascension. I'm guessing Zeta will finally make a move(probably)'

Tldr: this will be a long open recruitment that would possibly last till the end of the year. The reason is Zeta is buying time for the future roster moves at the same time not wanting to miss out on the current roster moves
