New Pinoy, new trophy?

posted 1 week ago

Big moves incoming in NA as teams prep for VCT 2026. Here are the key storylines and what to keep an eye on:

🔹 Sentinels overhaul? The Sentinels appear to be in full rebuild mode. With several departures rumoured and new acquisitions in the pipeline, they’re signalling that the roster which dominated early VCT NA may not be the one we see next season. (See latest transfer board for USA-tagged moves.)

🔹 Depth everywhere. Other NA organisations are not standing still. Free agency churn has opened up roles across Initiator/Flex and Controller spots. Expect mid-tier teams to poach talent from each other in a scramble to catch up.

🔹 Youth vs veteran debate. Some teams are pursuing experienced international players, others are investing in regional young guns. The Sentinels appear to be leaning one way (veteran leadership) while challengers go the alternative route.

🔹 Timing matters. Transfers now affect pre-season synergies, scrim schedules and agent pools. Teams that lock in sooner will have a big advantage heading into Stage 1. Last-minute moves risk chemistry disruptions.

🔹 What to watch:

Which veteran leaves Sentinels first (if any)?

Who steps into the flex/initiator role in NA’s secondary teams?

Are there cross-region imports entering NA instead of Europe/Asia?

How will these moves affect VCT NA qualification and the Challenger scene?

Final thought: This transfer wave could mark a pivot point for NA esports. If Sentinels falter or challengers catch them off-guard, the region’s power structure may shift.

KDG promotion feels like a natural move. He turned T1A from a mid-pack team into the best in Korea Challengers within one split. If he can bring that same structure and adaptability to the main roster, T1 might finally find long-term consistency instead of relying on raw talent alone. Solid choice.

Yeah, Something’s Yoru is technically viable, but right now it feels more like a liability than a playmaker. Way too many solo plays with no setup, and it’s hurting their flow. Until they clean up the fundamentals and actually play off each other, this comp isn’t going anywhere.

PRX end the regular season with a 2-3 record, barely keeping their season alive by clutching up 2-0 against GE to secure the final playoff spot.

Now the real test begins.

Earlier this year, they were in a similar spot—fighting through playoffs for a ticket to Masters Bangkok—only to fall short when it mattered most.

The question is: will history repeat itself, or has PRX learned from that heartbreak?

With Masters Toronto on the line, it’s do-or-die time. This is their shot at redemption.

After a 2-1 loss to T1 with three players in the negative KDA, will PRX survive the lower bracket run?
After Two years of not really changing roaster are they getting very predictable

After leaving Paper Rex Benkai's career hasn't been outstanding, is he just a system player or he just got carried and was on the team cause they need an "IGL"
