Might be a little late to reply, but my response was not a strawman, which in definiton is arguing against an argument which isn't stated. I was clearly arguing against the statement that abilities aren't needed to win

Since I don't think you understood my argument correctly, I'll say it in a different way. Teams need abilities to set up gunfights. Teams that don't do this correctly struggle, no matter how good their aim is. Abilities is the main way you set up gunfights, and you need a good compisition to do this.

In 1v1's of course you use a gun to win. As Bren would say "IT'S AN FPS GAME", and you need to shoot and swing well to win. However, teams who only are good at that aren't able to win as much as teams who win chamionships both use abilities and gunfights well.

While in some sense you are correct that aim is a huge part of success. Saying you can not use abilities is just not true at all. Teams who can’t coordinate their comps but have amazing aim are struggling, for example paper rex. I don’t see many if any examples of players not using abilities who are on a team who is in contention to win a trophy.
