It is a bit concerning for me though that they did this roster move shortly before Challengers 2 qualifiers, while Shalaby was playing the LAN in Madrid. Makes me wonder how much actual pracc did they have with this new roster, cuz if Vitality fuck up in 2 weeks, that's it - they out for a long time.
I think this makes sense, Vitality has had a problem of not having a proper duelist for this entire time since Masters 2 qualifiers. First it was bramz, then they passed the baton to vakk. Now it seems Shalahabibi will be the dedicated duelist, while vakk and bramz will switch to their preferred roles.
I think it is more likely that redditors got things confused to be honest.
That doesn't mean, that the main event being a local event is a bad idea, they just should finance the accommodation of players, that are orgless/sponsorless. Or limit the main event to just RO8 or RO8 + non-seeding groups.
I agree with that completely, if TO finances the accommodation and travel of players who can't afford it, then it is a great idea to have a LAN stage even during open qualifier stage. However, if players have to pay out of pocket to attend LAN for open qualifiers(where let's be real, they are most likely paying to lose), then it is a stupid idea to have LAN stage during open qualifiers. I am indeed sceptical that TO would finance the travel and accommodation of players that would play in open qualifiers as the logistics of that are difficult to say the least + they would have to spend a significant amount of time to sift through fraudulent claims.
I think right now the question is whether it is truly a LAN stage during open qualifiers or whether there is a LAN stage only during the main event. I think everybody here would agree that a LAN event is a must for main stage event.
Hm, either reddit is full of shit or Liquipedia contributors have got their info wrong. People on reddit are legit talking as if open qualifiers were played on LAN and some player had to stop playing in open qualifiers because travel and accommodation to Seoul is expensive
If you allowed consideration of EEA countries then I'd say Liechtenstein, but if only EU then dunno, all of the countries are special in their own retarded ways. Even you, Finland, with your sisu perkele vibes
If what the reddit OP is saying true, then it is somewhat stupid to have open qualifiers(because I don't believe that Riot is covering travel expenses for open qualifier players at that stage) being played out in LAN. But for main events LAN is perfectly fine
Currently on a significant cut as I need to get rid of 30 kilos(~70 in freedom units) that I put on during all these lockdowns
My goal is to only have a single meal a day, so yesterday I had:
1x fried chicken thigh
1x fried chicken drumstick
1x scotch egg
1x smoked mackerel fillet
Around 70 grams of pickled herring
I could also be a professional valorant player if I had a pc with RTX 3090, Ryzen 9 5900X and 360hz monitor. I'm just really being held back due to only having access to a 60hz monitor and cheap gaming chair
More like papa mixwell and his children
While I'm a hater of modern UIs, I do think that vlr in some areas is already superior to HLTV. I think what is truly holding vlr back from surpassing HLTV completely is better match API support from Riot.
Hmm, did they choose Serbia to bootcamp due to Visa situation for the Russian players?
According to nukkye, he is getting paid the same amount on G2 as he was getting paid on Heretics(at least a month ago). Maybe that will increase if G2 show decent results in future competition
Oh, huh, my bad, seems that NRG did indeed place higher than TSM in previous Challengers tournaments. OMEGALUL that TSM is actively avoiding tournament practice then
Because they have previously been able to qualify for tier 1 competition that bars them from competing in tier 2 competition is my guess
We'll see, hoping to be proven wrong
Masters 2 EU qualifiers for EMEA tournament were severely flawed(single bracket format, practically no break after Masters 1 and all that), but Riot has now fixed that with Masters 3 EU qualifiers for EMEA. I still think that Fnatic can go through the next qualifiers and actually have a decent chance at going for EMEA tournament, as they always have some sort of unorthodox stuff going on(with decent preperation) that can allow them to cheese their way through competition. Liquid on the other hand, they seem to have hit their peak on Masters 2 EMEA as they didn't improve at all when it came to Reykjavik LAN therefore I don't have much hope for them.
Decent Lithuanian player representation in the pro scene. Just hoping that it's not nukkye who is gonna be the only one remaining as teams with other lithuanian players can't seem to get through european qualifier stages. + CS:GO became boring to follow after witnessing the same stale scene for more than 5 years already tbh
Well the guy says that he wouldn't be able to watch and talk about the game where his region would be tier 2, so if NA loses in Berlin grand finals that will automatically make NA a tier 2 region according to the logic he described in his initial post. Hence, him, specifically going off this forum, not anybody else in general.
There is valorant pro division run by faceit: https://www.faceit.com/en/organizers/c335b963-bcf2-48d9-8392-8414a5b28ac6/Valorant%20Pro%20Division
But it's losing popularity, turns out Riot ranked is good enough to do the job
Can't wait for you to be gone off this forum after Berlin if NA loses in the grand final as according to your logic it will relegate your region to tier 2.
Anglos cursing themselves by being toxic. There is still some justice left
Acend, Gambit, and the last 2 slots - any of the following depending on bracket structure: Fnatic/G2/SuperMassive Blaze/FPX/Guild
Niceee, thanks for getting this information from lucas' stream as I now can stop spamming nukkye's chat with "bootcamp when" question. Yeah this is a positive, my worst fear as a G2 fanboy(in reality delusional_nukkye_fan as I only started stanning G2 after their roster shuffle) would be them getting complacent with this result.
Seeding is quite important for EMEA though, both G2 and Acend have now got automatic BYEs into upper bracket round 2, along with Gambit and SuperMassive Blaze. I do agree that seeding in NA is a meme though
HARD FOR NUKKYE TODAY BUT SO EZ FOR NUKKYE IN THE FUTURE
Looks like both teams started to treat this series as a scrim on Wednesday afternoon
Would be funny if G2's gameplan was to act out this gif: https://i.imgur.com/eISrwjW.gif
but still not convinced it's gonna happen yet
Yeah you're also right. I certainly hope G2 is not having their Liquid masters run moment and they will actually seriously consider bootcamp and serious preperation for EMEA.
G2 also only pracced with their final roster for about 10 days before masters. No reason for G2 to not improve significantly over the upcoming month either
expected tbf
I agree. They are promising and can't wait to see what they can do after they had more time to practice
Riot worried that this BO5 is gonna be longer than 6 hours and thus not allowing them to stream NA grand finals on main channel ))
Part of the reason I couldn't stand G2 before their roster shuffle, him and davidp
grande espana
yeah my point exactly. Acend, G2, SMB(TR superteam) and Gambit got an automatic BYE for round 2 in upper brackets of EMEA tournament. In NA, however, no team is getting an automatic BYE.
Seeding matters a lot more for EMEA than for NA to be honest
Because their mains eventually get banned for racism & xenophobia when their masks slip
Acend should win in 4 maps tomorrow. Up to this point, G2 have exhausted their cheese strategy playbook, so they should be pretty easy to counter strat for Acend. Moreover, current G2 roster underwent substantial roster changes that saw only 2 weeks of practice time. In order to beat cned & zeek you need proper strats and cohesion, something that G2 simply didn't have enough time to prepare for.
Although when it comes to EMEA tournament, G2 will have pracced for a month and that's when I expect them to be better than Acend
Fair enough, I think we both agree that this character is going to be highly situational and will probably entrench meta divisions between regions. I think I was wrong to say that he would take sova's "must pick" place, I should have rather said that he could replace sova in some situations or combinations with other agents
Okay, that may be well true for NA meta, but Hiko has also been shitting on brimstone for however long and yet EU teams have been running brim relatively successfully. It's all situational, on some maps kay/o will be less useful, on some he is going to be a must pick.
His knife can reveal enemies through suppression. Pro teams already know where to prefire for sova's recon dart spots, kay/o could temporarily disrupt that. Moreover, you could run both skye and kay/o to have the same capacity of info gathering on two sides of the map, but with more flashes and more useful utility.
I would argue that kay/o is just as likely to take sova's place.
eh, gotta say cned. nukkye requires a cohesive team in order to succeed so that he could do his mid round magic, cned can just carry any team even if his teammates are not that great. Also #12 made a good point, the comparison should really be between keloqz and cned. Comparable roles and main weapons
Respectable, although I think niesow was equal if not tad a bit better than nukkye, hence why I'm so uncertain
The only question I have is this:
New g2 vs old heretics(pre-rubino aka niesow 5 man roster)
