He is a floor raiser for sure. I think he fits in the role of academy where he can home grown some talents but not enough for actual important tournaments.

I believe if DSG needs to improve, unfortunately steel is the one to go solely because of this reason. His strat and set play is not as strong as people think. For example, he is still using his classic ascent leave mid open strat where even in 2021 has proven bad against what was known as 'good team' by then (Gambit and Ascend). Now where are those teams, nowhere as successful in tier 1, and he still uses that strat in 2023 where teams will layer util like crazy compared to Reyna being meta. That itself said how much changes it has been.

His later maps are somewhat better with Pearl and Fracture. But still far from the igls of valyn or zander when the huge development of strats boomed in 2022. These new igls came to life while we all know what happened in T1 (the valorant team when they are in NA)

To be fair, split change actually made the map more even in pro play. We have seen way more attacker win round in split despite what seemed to be minor change. Major changes can over shift it

yea but the molly is supposed to push people out from hiding. Not talking post plant, there are multiple time a viper molly a corner and the other team can still sit there and get like 3 kills in pro play. You don't throw your smoke at every corner every round
