Unfortunately it's the not well-known, up-and-comers that are likely to be stuck in contract hell.
The big name and streamers have plenty of bargaining power to give themselves flexibility in their signings, but what leverage do teams such as say, MIXUP, have to get good terms? From the organistion's point of view, if the player has no current marketability, then their value lies solely in future potential, which requires onerous terms to secure the org's investment.
Given the definite lack of any sort of players' union at the moment, I am quite confident there will be plenty of predatory signings happening.
