that would make sense in theory, but if it's a smurf account, the player probably doesn't care about their elo, and might just throw ranked games to get into easier lobbies for fun. thats why it's probably best to ban the account, at least imo.

well riot also has access to their other games in the said persons career tab so they probably wouldn't just base it all off a lobby reporting someone for smurfing

yeah i remember one time there was this homophobic guy who was throwing cuz smn on our team was gay, and everyone in the lobby reported and like 5 mins after the game ended (we lost) an in game notification said he was banned

tbf, v1 wasn't considered good at all compared to tier 1 b4 the last challengers, but they showed up (and every called it a fluke). teams like 100 thieves, envy, immortals, c9 were all considered way better than v1, but v1 2-1'd liquid pretty convincingly.
