Im not arguing against americas level of play. Actually i believe the two regions are incredibly equal these days. People here & reddit just seem to downplay EU since they 1. lack big brands that are well known in the US 2. Had The new cores 3. Narratives were kinda established in the first bracket already. Perceptions were made through that biased lens.
Nrg and Loud are just as guaranteed as Fnc and Navi.
6/10 Eu teams didnt have established cores. Same number as all other regions combined.
You really misrepresent the performances of eu teams: Fut nearly 2-0'd 100T, Koi played 2 close maps vs NRG, Giants won a map off NRG, KC played 2 close map vs Loud, BBL took a map off DRX. Vitality went triple OT vs Lev which was hard to mentally recover from plus vit new core vs lev being established. Only Heretics and Liquid truly sucked. At next Masters you will change your tune. Eu sucking is an alpha bracket myth.
In the Americas Loud and NRG seem to be locks. Only 1 spot is left. Teams like Lev and Furia seem like favourites for the spot.
In Emea there are 2 locks too with FNC and NAVI but for the 2 spots left you couldnt name clear favourites. Sure some might be a bit ahead of others (Koi, vit, giants). But its entirely possible for everybody in the league (except heretics) to qualify.
Doesnt that make it crazy interesting? Every match matters?
I feel like in americas Furia vs EG or Lev vs Mibr would be complete sleepers since its so predictable.

There werent many surprises. Only Talon and Furia exceeded expectations. But this was only an introduction to all the team and players. I dont judge them like theyre at peak level yet.
Cant wait for the leagues.
Japan is doing really well in terms of viewership. Having them get a top team would be big for the scene as a whole

Honestly i expect another FNC 3-0. Maybe 3-1. They are a truly special team
If it makes you feel better i think Leo and Shao are the clear top 2. Personally i think this semi performance pushed leo over Shao but its close.
Asia is the most top heavy region there is.
A lot of big name Americas teams fell apart. Only LOUD and NRG looked top level. Lev and Furia might be decent shouts but thats it.
Give EMEA 2-3 months and you'll see how good the midfield becomes

Theres actually no region that deserves the spot as much as EMEA.
I wouldnt say by far. The MVP can only be him or Shao. He won and played great so it should be Leo.
Historically yes but Boaster is having a absurd tournament. His midrounding has been great and his stats are the best of all Igls so he is fragging too.
I would have put FNS first if he fragged better.

They would not be better than the male scene. There wouldnt be gendered scenes at all anymore. We are probably 100s of years away from 50/50 parity. But 20,30,40% could eventually be achieved.
Have you ever thought of the concept of societal conditioning? And gender roles? Do you ever step out of your own shoes for a broader perspective? Educate yourself? Step out of your bubble?
The ways people find out someones gender differ between the games but the result remains the same. And there are fore more ways to tell besides voice. E.g. name, avatar, whatever cosmetic options there are, champion picks and so on.

At some point if you enter the high elo/pro scene you have to reveal your identity to some degree. The moment people connect your online name to the female gender you are going to face discrimination. You also cannot express your gender in any way before that (name, skins, champions played, role). Girls often like playing pretty/cute support champs and losers will attack you once they see your op.gg
And therefore you are partially onto something but the conclusion is wrong. There are probably more casually playing women than those in high elo circles. But the reason in once again societal pressure.

Men can choose from the 0.01% of their group while women have to water their pool down significantly and having to choose from their top 1%. Obviously if you can be faaar more picky you pick better fruits.
If gaming was more welcoming and the female playerbase was equal in size we'd be much closer to a 50/50 split than we are currently.
Trans-women cant really get rid of their masculine voice. Therefore since the trait that would earn them harassment is not visible when playing games they get by better. Also many trans folk grew up with their wrong gender/didnt come out yet so they could get used to the space as kids and teenagers.
