top 2 for me this year are dave the diver and disco elysium
dave the diver is just a fun restaurant sim/fishing game where you go deep sea diving to get fish to serve in a sushi restaurant, really fun core gameplay loop that has a surprising amount of content, with a lot of random fun minigames sprinkled in
disco elysium is an rpg where you play as a cop who loses his memories and has to rediscover who he is while also solving a murder case that could mean a small-scale war if not properly handled with. Easily some the best written dialogue and characters in a game, with a world unlike anything else ive seen. You can play a completely straight detective or go for nothing but joke answers so the playthrough is really in your hands, truly a one-of-a-kind game that i hope gets a follow-up of some sort (which it might not considering the battle going on between the devs and the publisher right now)

battlebit isn't competitive at all, so having somebody of his skill level actively tryhard is annoying since there's no incentive to put in that much effort other then stat padding
