Rooting for both PRX and KRU to get to playoffs, GGWP!

posted about a year ago

NRG has a better chance of winning but I love how the bets always skew so much towards NA. Not gonna complain that we can profit off potential upsets

posted about a year ago

I feel like the hardest teams to evaluate are those from the LCQ (GIANTS, KRU, ZETA), underperforming teams last year (LOUD, NAVI, DRX, T1) and Chinese teams new to the scene (BLG, FPX).

KRU, Giants and ZETA may have had a near flawless run in the LCQ but we won't know if they've really stepped up or if other LCQ teams are just mid.

SS: FNC
S: PRX, EG, TL
A: NRG, EDG, LOUD, DRX, NAVI
B: T1, FUT

??: KRU, GIANTS, ZETA, BLG, FPX

One of the few teams that care more about having fun than the trophy

posted about a year ago

The teams in group D have fallen off lately though. Group A is the polar opposite where you have underdogs like KRU and Giants dominating LCQ, along with 1st seed pacific and CN

Something's Visa has already been confirmed on Stream. He's coming to LA

His reply lacks logic due to lack of an explanation, I perceive him as a perfectly normal human being

ok 🗿

You are leveraging on a term that describes someone of a vegetable state not capable of mentally functioning, to insult someone else who isn't actually in such a state.

Aren't you belittling the group of people who are actually in such a state by using their medical condition to reinforce the negative connotations associated with it.

posted about a year ago

Still lacking logic but I guess everyone just goes with the flow

posted about a year ago

It's bad because it stereotypes a group of people and puts them below others... So when fl1pzjder calls TenTen braindead, his remark doesn't stereotype people diagnosed with a lower level of intelligence?

posted about a year ago

And why is that so?

posted about a year ago

It is what it is, but it probably isn't how it should be

posted about a year ago

Goes to show that you get away with being toxic but not racist

posted about a year ago

Probably because the cultural distance is too huge, and if their best players are not from their country of origin.

posted about a year ago

I totally agree with Asian culture being part of the underdeveloped esports scene in Asia as well. It's more acceptable to be a pro gamer in the west than in Asia with the stereotypes in place.

Would love to see China make it big but things aren't looking good considering their government's stance on gaming.

posted about a year ago

Yeah most Filipinos speak a blend of Tagalog and English. They failed miserably with Lenne tho lmao

posted about a year ago

I believe China has the biggest player base in league according to online stats. KR, EU and NA is pretty balanced in player count imo

posted about a year ago

That's why there is so much more diversity in EU and NA. I swear every country in Asia here is plaqued by xenophobia.

posted about a year ago

I do agree that chemistry matters, but what we lack is having the best of both worlds like in successful EU and NA teams - Players with both cracked aim and game sense along with synergy playing as an international roster. Most APAC organisations don't have the privilege of this due to language barriers across international rosters, forcing them to stick to local talent as seen by the large percentage of single-flag teams.

When I spoke about diversity and "larger talent pools", I was referring to the privilege of EU and NA being able to source talents across borders without worrying about language barriers and synergy. Why do you think successful teams in the EU are not comprised of a single-flag roster? If Fnatic were to run a roster only limited to the best of UK players, would they be as strong as they were?

Put this into perspective - Single-flag Korean teams like T1 and DRX for instance can only source the best of players from their population of 50 million (assuming 0.5% plays valorant - 250k players). NA population - 370 million (1.85M val players), EMEA - 750 million (3.75M val players).

posted about a year ago

Yes I was exaggerating a little there but being attractive to immigrants does land you a larger pool of talent in the long run

posted about a year ago

NA - Land of the Immigrant
Example of some of their best players along with their ethnic groups: Demon1 (Russian), Jawgemo (Cambodian), C0M (Korean), Victor (Chinese), Marved (Vietnamese), SOM (Korean), FNS (Indian ethnicity)

EU - Carried by cracked CIS Players + National Diversity
Russian FPS gamers are just cracked + teams comprise of the best of players from different countries

APAC - Xenophobic mfers / Language Barrier / Land of the poor
T1, TS, ZETA, EDG and DRX rosters are made of players purely from their own country (possibly due to the language barrier), while GE and PRX are the only teams with imports / diversity.

PC gaming population is not huge in APAC as most countries are still developing and not all gamers can afford to own a PC over mobile.

China is pretty much closed off from the rest of the world and faces gaming crackdowns by their own government. Crossfire is still probably their main choice of all FPS games

posted about a year ago

I'd agree on replacing Mindfreak with Mako but you can't do the same for D4v4i since teams can only have 1 import

posted about a year ago

Wdym none of their teams qualified

It's required by law for all male citizens. You will get jailed for avoiding these obligations

posted about a year ago

I thought Champions LA was going to be his last event, correct me if I'm wrong

posted about a year ago

I understand that this will probably be Jinggg's last year competing due to his obligations to conscript under "National Service" in Singapore. Any Singaporean users know if there is a chance for him to apply for deferment considering how much success he has in the esports scene? He's only 19 and it is a waste of his prime years if he can't compete for the next 2 years or so.

Our national sports athletes got to defer until 26 to take part in international events (i.e Joseph Schooling), but I guess esports is still nowhere near as significant as sports?

There is a chance PRX might ban Lotus considering how they got stomped by both FNC and NRG. EG might study these games to beat PRX at a potential Lotus pick.

posted about a year ago

EG 3 - 1 PRX

PRX already far exceeded my expectations given the circumstances. It's been rough for forsaken - he's been smiling so much less ever since their loss against FNC. Would love to see him back to being himself in Champions.

posted about a year ago

True, but considering how close the EG and FNC game was, anything could've went wrong if a 6th member had to sub for any of their best players

posted about a year ago

He isn't terrible, but he's hovering at immortal 3 in rank and he's had 10 days to practice. To put it into comparison, imagine fnatic without Derke or EG without Demon1 or Jawgemo

posted about a year ago

3-1 or 3-0 EG clears. With something it would've been 3-2 PRX.

A streamer Immortal 3 player just wouldn't have the same impact as APAC's MVP

PRX is probably going to lose to EG with CGRS as their sub, but how can you hate this guy. Dude was literally their bag carrier / streamer who had 0 experience playing in tier 1 valorant. Hope he has a fun and a great experience in Masters Tokyo regardless of the outcome

EG gonna clap PRX w/o Something. It would have been a close game going either way if Smth was here though

posted about a year ago

Could've been equally easy 2-0 PRX if Jinggg, MF and Forsaken stops overheating and walking into crosshairs after getting a kill... Or if Something was here allowing them to run a proper harbor lineup in pearl and double duelist in Lotus... Or if D4v4i actually checks his corners in Bind...

So many what ifs lmao

posted about a year ago

Depends tbh PRX went 5-1 vs FNC and 6-1 vs EDG on def

You're right, NRG gonna roll PRX w/o Something. If Smth was here they'd get their ass clapped tho

posted about a year ago

Stop embarrassing yourself bruh. EDG deserved the win as much as PRX, they could've ended in a 2-0 if they took first map. GGWP to EDG.

Something's Visa should get approved asap ffs

posted about a year ago

He's probably not gonna make it in time for DRX and I'm fairly certain they're gonna get eliminated in playoffs with 0 Wins. All the other teams look really good rn and PRX won't stand a chance without him.

posted about a year ago

No hate to Navi, just to 0iq fans like you.

He's literally gotten so many FKs for his team for that 1 man advantage, I don't see how he's overrated. Also, Valorant is a team game if you haven't realised by now lil bro.

posted about a year ago

Hope this ages well

posted about a year ago

No excuses, wp by EG and poor performance from DRX. With how they played T1 is definitely looking better than DRX rn

posted about a year ago

Ahh wasn't aware of the rules. Thanks for clarifying

posted about a year ago

Felt like PRX should've picked up Vici who was removed from Sengoku Gaming along with Something. He's pretty good and very supportive of Smth / PRX as well.

Edit: Forgot to mention that he's been teamless for months which seems pretty wasted
