I think it should be based on what fraction of the main roster stayed. So for example, if 4 leave and they had 300 circuit points, they should have 1/5th of their original circuit points still left(60). Or if 2 leaves, they'll have 3/5th of their original circuit points(180).

At least that honors the people still left in that roster, who worked hard for those points. I don't get why it should only subtract everything from those who have overhauls of 3 or more members.

Maybe introduces unnecessary complexity into the points system which leads to awkward outcomes?

Giants to me is in an awkward place, but I've always liked watching them. They can challenge T1 teams and they are good in the T2 scene. To really become next level, I just feel they need to adjust to the meta more, which seems to be the direction they are going in with Boo on Astra. This new iteration where they have MOLSI could be really strong. I hope they can make a breakthrough in this tournament and beat Acend.

The reason it's that way is so when you do upgrade and regret it, you'll be spending more money on other skins, that you would like more instead; another reason to just not bother with skins at all. It has nothing to do with whether they can implement it or not, it's that way on purpose. The way the store is set up is just emotional manipulation to get you to spend as much as possible, while making you play as much as possible to keep you invested as much as possible.

At the end of the day, it's just an "idiot tax" to keep the servers running, employee costs dealt with and maximizing profits of the product. The goal is to not take the bait and just enjoy the game, or spend in a way where your emotions are not the rationale in the purchasing decision. I learned this when I was younger and spent my allowance on cosmetics within shit like Adventure Quest, Habbo etc..

Edit: Nvm doesn't make sense at all, because the # of groups are imbalanced. If they do standard double elim, they will have the SEA bracket, but on steroids. Maybe round robin/groups to round off the teams to 8, then based on that seeding either a double or single elim?
