According to Liquipedia, it's based on a point system, which is based on map wins. And according to that system you/the casters are correct. 2-0 win awards 3 points, 2-1 win awards 2 points, 1-2 loss awards 1 point.

OAS, TS have 9 points. They are guaranteed to go through no matter what. APH has 8 points and BRN has 7 points. The fate of APH lies solely on whether BRN can acquire more, than 1 point.

If BRN gain 1 point in this match, it will be tied between BRN and APH. I'm not sure what happens if that's the case. It may be decided with map differential or the fact, that BRN would have 1 less series win, than APH (BRN would be 2-4, while APH would be 3-3, BRN would also have 1 less map wins overall). Still not clear on that.

Hypothetically, if it were a 4-way tie, it would be in the strategic interest of the 1st, 2nd or 3rd team to forfeit against the 4th team(which happens to be one of the better teams), as it would give less chances for the 4th team to increase their round differential and therefore topple the top 3 by that avenue, because as it seems currently, no map score is awarded or taken. If OAS ties with TS, the best play for OAS may be to forfeit, if they indeed do not lose rounds by doing so, ensuring a max 13 round differential on the Split.

Not at all accusing of OAS of doing that here, the scenarios are highly unlikely, but plausible, so I don't see a reason for them to orchestrate metagaming on this level, but it's something to be aware of. That's why I think map score should be both subtracted from the forfeiter and added to their adversary to not incentivize such metagaming, in general.

Edit: Scratch the first part, both scenarios are possible. If APH loses both of their games, TS wins both of their games and BRN vs OAS goes to BRN, which would be the 4 way tie scenario.. And if APH wins OAS, BRN wins TS, TS wins APH, BRN wins OG, it's a 2 way tie with OAS and TS. I still don't think it's reasonable to imply, that OAS intentionally forfeited, it's too big of a stretch, but it could be a valid tactical move in some of the scenarios.

It's not a problem with the website, the web app is fantastic, it's a problem with the infrastructure that's set up. Something could be wrong with the load balancing/nginx reverse proxy setup. It's weird, because some flairs disappear during high load times, even though they're served through a CDN. I don't know what the exact problem could be, don't work on the website.

Agree with the fact, that they broke the rule, I think that was clear to everyone given the information available.

Depending on the depth of the investigation, if it is indeed true, that the only communication that happened between them did not provide information to the players and given the fact, that they committed this in the first open qualifier and not the second where they actually qualified, I think a warning is of a reasonable severity.

If they were to repeat offend with similar severity, they should be on thinner ice when it comes to punishment severity as these things don't "just happen" multiple times by accident.
