havoc, went from "havoc watch" to beating 100T. A good development.
I would say Reykjavik 2021 with SEN is the most dominant. Sentinels did not drop a map, Fnatic dropped a map in the upper finals to EG from my knowledge.
dear god i hope they start experimenting, this is like the only opportunity to properly and if they dont theyll just bomb outta champs
Best to use this time to experiment and see what sticks on the wall, they gotta find their identity they play so odd.
Get a new head coach or feed AfteR a new diet because the strats are not going to be sufficient when they go international, or even in domestic.
EDG, FPX, JDG, BLG
EDG: purely champ points regardless (that "technically" scenario will unlikely happen)
FPX: pushed themselves in Shanghai, looking like the #1 rn
JDG: their last game against TYLOO looks promising, and they should be able to fix their issues now that Shanghai is over (also may have scrimmed INT teams anyways)
BLG: yosemite wants to run it back (nephh and FlexIn might make a good impact)
FNS and s0m are signed back in and BLG decide to run it back is crazy 💀
I think it's a matter of unfamiliarity with GenG players rather than dislike for GenG in general. Which is why I appreciate T3xture making the effort to try to stream and have viewers know who he is somewhat personally.
Similar to Benjy and Wo0t where they stream often and have openly been positive about the VCT CN.
not surprising, t3xture alongside Wo0t and Benjy (I don't know if there are anyone else) but they have been making efforts to stream in the region.
So it's good that the CN community is warming up to them because they are a new community and since all CN teams are out who are they gonna root for?
I don't think the crowd was captured heavily on stream during GenG win but I saw a lot of actual attendees say that there were intense cheers for GenG as well (from CN fans).

pretty interesting, so hupa is a CN website where players get to rate players post match. Overall, Texture got a 9.1/10, a note underneath saying "number one duelist in the world, the pride of Asians"
JDG and BLG did some roster moves, depending on how positively it'll affect their strats and teamplay there's a possibility that both of them make Champs. DRG might drop out of playoffs to be quite honest. The other CN teams might've scrimmed with the Shanghai teams so there's a chance we see another different team.
Tldr:Maybe JDG or BLG
from what i know
Lizhi - EDG Women's player
Zhang Yanqi - Chinese Singer
EQ118 - Valorant pro (expro?) (not in VCT CN) (apparently from 1 google search idk)
Xiaojue - ex-Overwatch Pro -> PUBG (idk if he still plays)
DANKING - ex-CSGO pro (TYLOO)
i've changed my flair temp to TH so yk who
Is GS TH comparable (are they similar?) to Playoffs TH? or is this just on a different level
I mean a good chunk of the CN community is very new, so they'd naturally cheer for CN but not all would be invested in the other teams, which makes sense considering that Valorant released officially only near the end of last year, I can't expect much. I'm just here to watch the games regardless of crowd influence.
excited to see them in Champs though, im sure they can polish their strats and fix on minor issues
which works in favour for them, because it doesnt matter where they place domestically, they can just focus on genuine improvement.
i'm pretty sure they have enough champ points (14) where they could legitmately throw every game and not make playoffs but still make champs.
maybe this is a good oppotunity to fuck around and experiment and try to figure out their identity
go go go! i'm rooting for them for playoffs, im curious to see how far they'll go
team chemistry is the major issue when it comes to solutions, especially since someone like Haodong is the mental stability in the team, but I think the players will find their footing with better coaching support, the strats look too uncomfortable and it will affect their mentals.
coaching is the main issue, player potential is high, especially with their already superb aim. which is understandable because even though CN was technically a region since the beginning of vct, the interest of valorant is not there, so even though player individuality is there because of hard work, coaching is neglected because of the lack of coaching development. so maybe the solution is imported analysts and coaches or just a higher focus on that coaching department.
i think coaching and analysts are priority, once they figure out proper strats and protocols, roles can adapt from then,
wo0t is one hell of a player, even when theyre on a sub i dont feel like they are on a supposed disadvantage. benjy, reins, and boo are strong in their own rights as well, curious to see their progress.
i'll go for them
need a team, not a one off mock lol
quite interested to see how far they'll go, they looked very clean against FUT
i'll go for them
Since EDG are out (so is my soul)
give me ONE reason why I should root for whatever team is left in playoffs for this event (show me ur best reasons!). ill root for TWO teams max and i'll comment on it to show my allegiance
TEAM 1, I have chosen 100T.
TEAM 2, I have chosen TH.
I was sick, and I took a nap to get better. Personally, I thought PRX would 2-0, but I checked and we are in map 3 (3-1) rn and it looks quite rough. Even if G2 lose they passed my general expectations, I didn't think they were bad, but I believed that PRX wouldn't drop any maps. I am forwarding a minor apology to G2, as I thought G2 would just head to the lower brackets.
FPX were pushing their potentials during their games in swiss. Unless EDG is able to figure something out, its tough to tell. Though EDG bombing out of Madrid because of LOUD might be a good motivator for something good.
tbf TH played a DRG that looked pretty lost, DRG's second game looked way better in comparison. Although I feel like TH have good odds if they are ready to play scrappy with FPX (+ if they work on those numbers advantage throws)
If Heretics want a good chance, they should be ready to play scrappy against FPX, the rounds could get chaotic and FPX are used to that.
It's nice that It's in a good timezone for me. The crowd is not that knowledgeable about the other teams which is understandable, and the bias to the home crowd is expected. Swiss is giving us some good games which is nice, and I can't wait for Playoffs.
Popularity-wise, maybe not the strongest but the fact that its placed in Shanghai is good for the development of CN interest in Valorant (+ also CN teams can scrim international teams which is a good benchmark testing for them).
Even if CN don't do too much, this event does help them overall.
their sunset looked so so so off
Dragon Ranger Gaming
I'm pretty sure Biank is back to IGL'ing until they can find a competent IGL although that would take a while.
Will Champions stick to the normal 4 groups of 4, or go for a 16 man swiss stage?
Matches w/ Swiss Stage: 33 (66-99 maps played)
Matches w/ Normal GS: 20 (40-60 maps played)
It seems pretty tiring with the amount of maps you'll have to play so I'll assume they'll just stick to normal GS unless they do the thing at Worlds where elimination and advancement matches are Bo3 and any others are just Bo1.
100T are looking pretty scary going into the event
Rank the Shanghai teams from 1-12.
I'm curious for all of your predictions going into the event, since I can't make a clear judgement for the whole thing.
Teams going to the event for the people who might forget:
G2
100T
LEV
FPX
EDG
DRG
T1
GENG
PRX
FNC
FUT
TH
better start taking out loans buddy
