Who knows how many cases aren't reported so far. For me it looks the sane way corona started. First we had a few cases here and there and later it spread faster and faster with people travelling around the globe and thinking they will never get it anyways.

It doesn’t spread the same to my knowledge. BUT we already have vaccines for it in the US. The same vaccine that is good against smallpox works against monkey pox.
