Idea for Champions slots

I decided to do this after seeing Marshall_D_teach's post and Hasbulla's comment about the Swiss system

I'm basing this on the regions of vlr.gg
The best eight from each stage advance
I'm considering that Riot will not separate or merge regions
If you've got any ideas on how to improve this, I'd appreciate it
This is just an idea for entertainment purposes, I know Riot won't see it and I'm basing it on regions only, not the power of each region

You can also have a double elimination system in the play-offs

I think it should last about the same time as the CS Major. With COVID this would be basically impossible, with 12 teams there were already two teams, LOUD and Fnatic, that suffered, imagine with 24 in such a long tournament period, but for the future I think it would be a good idea.

It works, so why not use it?
Riot can't be afraid to use things that work in other games, otherwise the tournaments will never evolve.

atm i like Champions with 16 teams

if this year Champions go to same 2021 format, i only wanna double elimination playoffs

Swiss is the best format there ever was for esports
It's very fair and simple to understand - 3 wins you advance, 3 losses you're out

Riot not doing Swiss is a fucking joke, it would be W for teams (no "hard group" excuse) and W for viewers (way more exciting matches to watch)

I love you Marshal

It would probably be a good idea to make a Last Change for all of Asia, the only problem would be the distance between the countries, so it would have to be a LAN tournament.

It’s 2 NA, 1 NA lcq
2 emea, 1 emea lcq
1 Brazil, 1 latam, 2 south American lcq.
1 korea, 1 Japan, 2 sea. Lcq will be split into south and north. North is Korea and Japan and possibly China if they can play. South is sa, sea, and oce. Each with one slot.

The idea of splitting APAC was a good one, I hadn't thought about it.

I just don't understand the Last Chance for EMEA and NA, isn't it easier to just give the spot to the third best?

you said it yourself, "in theory". Having an lcq confirms who is the third best team and gives a chance to the teams that might have had a rebuild. ex: like c9. They definetly werent the 3rd best team before lcq, but they won it

It is a great format but its literally the same as the CS:GO Major format... they got to differentiate themselves for Valorant so if they change it up a bit then its fine
