Bad habit of the pros

Why do the pros, when they are in a close combat situation, always put the knife in their hand? Is this a habit that is hard to stop? You won style points? I've seen several teams lose rounds because of having a knife in their hand at the wrong moment.

some pros pull out the knife for a "mental reset" . Unlucky if they pull out their knife n get one tapped.

Accelerate their movement to get better positioning.

Positional advantage is soooo important in close combat like playing around gen that a little speed boost with the knife out could get you to that advantage position before your enemy

it also resets recoil faster than waiting
