im not sure why, but its a daytime fast, so you cant eat between sunrise and sunset
so for example for me its from 5am to 8pm i cant eat but after 8pm to 5am i can eat if that makes sense

yeah i get that. im jewish so we have minor fast days, which are similar to ramadan, just not for a whole month
