You can play 5 Bo3s and then have nothing after (you won't make playoffs), or you can stay in tier2, play a lot more games, win VRL, go to VRL Finals later, try to win VRL Finals...
A lot more content for a team like BIG if they play in tier2 rather than in tier1
Maybe it doesn't make sense to throw away higher league, but I would do that if I were BIG, they simply have no chance against top dogs like Gambit and FPX
To be in EMEA LCQ just to play 2 games and go home again?
If Riot gave EMEA 6 slots to every event (what we should get), maybe it would be better for BIG to try and stay in VCT, maybe they would qualify for LAN
But it's fucking 3 for Masters and 3 for Champions (1 LCQ slot), there's no way BIG makes it anywhere
Riot screwed EMEA and tier2 teams are better off in their own leagues, Riot decided to promote trash South America and Asia instead
