Effect of Sova removal on upcoming tournaments?

I know this might come under political but this will affect the game so please hear me out.

Riot is thinking about removing sova from the game because he is Russian. I wonder how this will affect the game and the meta in the upcoming tournaments(masters is also coming) since sova is a very nice initiator and is a must have on some maps like haven and ascent.

what are your opinions?
