actually I recommend the opposite. don't get a cheap one. mid-expensive monitors can last for over a decade if not more. cheap ones may get dead pixels, have ghosting, etc

there are many immo players in my friendlist who still play on 60hz, and were faceit level 10, so not surprised at all

they’ve been literally brainwashed by tech industry to think they need an expensive setup to reach high level. that’s why you see expensive mouses, keyboards, and screens. 144hz helps you, more than anything you can buy, but it’s still overrated

I was plat hardstuck till I got 144hz. In 2 months I peaked radiant. Not sure If It was fast improvement + motivation to grind after my purchased, maybe yes.
