Honeymoon from what? The addition of a coach? They had no roster changes but they all just hit their stride for a couple weeks and had a different playstyle so it threw people off. Once sen beat them it showed others how to do it.

They were able to do their smeag shit just because Viper was underpowered in Masters 1. Didn't particularly improve even after that. Even now their roles and teamplay seem so muddied.
