T1's run through this tournament has to be one of the best runs since FPX in Copenhagen. They both started out shaky with a sub, managed to qualify for the bracket, immediately get sent to lowers just to go on a lower bracket run. They managed to win the event despite every single player going negative in grand finals. Also stax and buzz finally winning a trophy after being consistent top level competitors for so long is great.
They played very little Tejo, an agent that most people assumed would shape the meta and the best Tejo implementation would win the event. They played double duelist on 5/7 maps (excluding fracture and bind), which teams seemed to think was shifting out of the meta in favor for double initiator. They also had three players play duelists and played 6/7 duelists throughout the event. They were the only team to play kj at the event. T1 proving how diverse the meta is great, and I hope more teams choose comps that suit their players instead of brute forcing a meta.
