ive never watched shanks so idk if he even actually does this but speaking from experience i can say its probably because the viewer doesnt realize that the jokes he makes are someone's actual beliefs. when i was 14, jokes about my race were the funniest thing ever until i stepped outside of my hometown and realized people genuinely hate black people
