actual dumbass
This woman is worse at stirring up drama than Zombs at this point
Xeppaa uses the gif all the time and I doubt it has anything (intended) to do with racism (yes I am aware of the term 'monkey' being offensive but it doesn't seem like he meant to use it that way)
Either way, he deleted the tweet, so he probably realized how some people might perceive it
I think Shuren made her understand that we dont know anything about xepaa's humor. He suddenly posts a gorilla after someone that is normally called monkeys. It just seemed wrong, Xepaa saw the possible misunderstanding and deleted it, thats it.
If i were called a gorilla by a proplayer, without knowing this context, i would be pissed too.
Im not saying he wanted to call someone a gorilla, i dont even think he was thinking of the possible outcomes when posting, thats why he deleted right away.
Im saying that she understood it like this.
You can't look at this by your own eyes, try to understand from her point of view. There is a giant mess, people normally generalize and are racist towards brazil, if you randomly see in a middle of a bantering fight a gorilla, being a brazilian (that are normally called monkeys in those scenarios) you could understand that it was a racist comment.
After Shuken answered it, she stopped. She did not know that it was a internal xepaa joke.
I've been saying this the whole day, overgeneralization and misunderstanding of cultures/languages are making a huge mess today.
but what i don't understand is why she immediately called him a racist immediately? like when some brazilians sent that picture of the dude with his dick out, people thought it was weird but they didn't say it was sexual harassment or anything. they just asked what it was because they don't know brazil culture and vernacular. i agree with ur point that misunderstanding of culture is very bad nowadays tho
You dont normally receive those type of pictures, i imagine.
I live in portugal, in my first day here, after a motorcycle guy saw me talking to my friend in brazilian portuguese he just screamed "MACACO ZUCA DO CARALHO" Which means "Your fucking brazilian monkey" and ran off with his motorcycle. We are used to understand that receiving a monkey means racism. ( this is a true story, i dont know if i should have told those personal things here, but i dont think is going to matter)
I think we got each other, we understood both points, just wanted to clarify with one case how she probably felt at that moment and why the fast response.
Because its common racism against brazil. I can send you some cases.
In brazil calling someone a monkey its the same thing as saying the N word to a black person in US.
They throwed a banana at Dani Alves (the person that won most trophies in history of soccer) in the middle of the match:
