RRQ just announced their academy roster for Challenger SEA League

https://x.com/teamrrqofficial/status/1871420752614089057

I'm quite happy with the lineup but still can be better roster lineup with another potential players, I know the coach think this is the best lineup based on stats and trial, but let's discuss another potential best lineup from your opinions

Here my thoughts:
(+) Pros:

  • Splash (finally this guy got spotlight after amazing stats in MY/SG scene)
  • Woody (sharp aim & wide agent pool)

(=) Neutral:

  • Natz (didn't reach his best form yet, but he's keep grinding lately)
  • 6ixkey (never heard in scene / least matches)

(-) Cons:

  • Zhar (mid player in Indonesia scene after a few years)

And here my alternative potential players currently:

  • Lilo (show his best potential when standin for Boom)
  • Iceyyy (hidden talent)
  • Gotten (but already in a big team)
  • Damara (young player, flashy duelist, but already in a big team)

Agreed. Splash is the best pickup here although I believe natz and 6ixkey have potential.

Okay first they won't get Lilo since their head of valorant stated that he's only consideration for lilo is on the duelist role and sadly splash is just the better option. They also tried getting gotten but the deal fell off. They picked zhar because he has some coaching experience and they needed an igl which is rare in Indonesia.

Interesting, do you have the source? Is it from a stream or what?

It's from the head of valorant himself on the whatsapp group

The consequence building an academy team is the availability of youngsters mostly they're duelist, it's a place for them to learn anything before promoted to the main team
Also included for learning being an IGL, so it's the way to produce a new IGL

By the looks of it, I think they're also planning on using the academy team similar to EG's 10 man roster. So it's not fully to develop a young talent but rather to also help their main team to grow. So a season igl with a good track record is way better than a new igl that is still learning. On the long run yes a new igl will pay off, but I don't think they should at the moment unless they're certain they can make it to champs.

Damara and Lilo is a good option but for duelist Splash is imo better. Gotten is a great player but like you said already in big org (AE) so does Nakya. Iceyyy I'm not really familiar.

Don’t sleep on Zhar, If you’ve been following him since his BEAST days, you know how well he builds up players and teams he’s part of.

Theres is no need to put alternative potential when they got teams lmao, they not wanna buyout some player just to go in academy 100%

6ixkey teams beat NAOS btw

6ixkey is quite good tho. kinda a rough diamond like splash, not with the firepower instead he is performing in a lot of agents.
