Opportunities for non-Korean APAC Challengers

The winner of Challengers Korea 2024 was SPG, and the runner-up was NS. They threatened SPG in the finals to the point where they were on par with BME (unlike BME, they took one set in the playoffs).

In Split 3, NS kept their power intact compared to DK, who had a poor roster. They were the big favorites to win. Then NS suddenly acquired SPG, and NS is set to disband.

Riot said that five of their players would be seeded for Challengers Korea, but NS decided to add some of their players to SPG's roster (most likely Xross, the top Korean talent). The most competitive Challengers team is now shattered. 2025 Tier 2 will be dominated by Academy teams, and a random mediocre team will represent Korea in the Ascension.

DSG looks very good, so we may see a two-time Ascension winner in APAC as well.

Xross is 17 and wont turn 18 until the end of the 2025 season which means he wont be able to play with SPG next year
The other NS members are still pretty good though, but it sucks that SPG wont be keeping the 5 that won ascension

All five members of the SPG have been signed and are confirmed to remain on the roster. Just some of the NS members will join the Reserve roster.

Holy shi. Watching it now it could’ve looked like it could’ve went either way. In another universe this nongshim roster could have won ascension as well if SPG didn’t closely beat them.
