3 reasons:

G2's biggest weakness is the lack of a S or even A tier duelist. They have no real 'X Factor' if you will. Icy is okay, but he's not great. He had a good start at Champs, but completely fell apart in playoffs.
G2 HAS to perform next year or they lose their franchise spot. Best way to have an even better shot at placing well is by getting Derke
In this clip, he said that he's very willing to move to NA. Now Derke can be a bit of a troll and he was probably joking here. But maybe not?
