I feel like a lot of players, specifically older igls are being held on to because of their past accomplishments. Correct me if I’m wrong cuz I can be, but a lot of players who are way past their prime are still being highly valued because of performances they used to have. Biggest example I can think of is old optic core and also a lot of old gambit other than maybe nats, as well as LOUD maybe?

That could certainly work in some ways I could definitely see FNS or Boaster being amazing coaches

I don’t think that works for non igls

4/6 of old Gambit is still good LMAO
Chronicle (best team material)
Nats (superteam material)
Sheydos (superteam material)

Chronicle is the GOAT of the game rn
nAts is still good and carrying TL
Sheydos is still good and carrying botKOI (top 4 stats in EMEA despite being on a bumass team = https://www.vlr.gg/event/stats/2094/champions-tour-2024-emea-stage-2)

I think TL should do a team with
Nats
Chron
Sheydos
ScreaM or something
T2 IGL

and then FNC could do a hiro + leo strat

yes but a team still has to keep its core to compete, so its not like u can drop everyone
a lot of them are also very clouted and bring in a lot of revenue for the teams
finding new players is not as easy as u think too

I disagree there are massive tier 2 systems in place, there are tons of players killing to try out and make it to vct and while yeah revenue clout it is by FAR more valuable for orgs to win and perform; think of karmine corp at the beginning of the year and how massive that clout and hype train was.

yea but do u trust these unknown quantities of tier 2 players more than proven players
unless their like verno or like bigger names i get it but theres also the team chemistry factor too

Thats why there’s trials, and practices, to see how players fit bro
It’s not like they step on the international stage as soon as they make the team

True is partially true. OpTic are all washed but GMB still have 3 good players. Nats Sheydos and Chronicle. Deffo and redgar weren't that good back then. LOUD is just going through a rough patch but Sacy aspas and less are doing good.

I do not at all think botnicle is good, and I haven’t heard anything abt Sheydos

Also there are exceptions but a lot of loud just isn’t there in terms of capability

Less is still a good player, he cant carry his team alone, but still a top 10 aimer and top 5 sentinel for sure.
