So T1 doesn't exist and nobody cheered/clapped for GenG? Sure, the enthusiasm wasn't high for GenG (understandable) but the crowd mic sucked and people did react positively to GenG plays. Also TH had a bigger fanbase (Wo0t, benjy) so of course they got more cheers.

I don't understand why you're saying that about T1 and also saying "understandable" when it comes to GenG. Are you implying that ridiculous political vendetta like that is okay? Just because of one mishap from their League division, all the shitflinging that Gen.G faced is understandable? Things like that have no space in the gaming community. The bullying they faced will never be "understandable".
And T1 also has a fanbase because they like XCC over there. So of course they got more cheers.

What you are saying definitely won't change what I and many others saw with my own eyes. Roaring crowd when TH player is about to kill a Gen.G player, but sudden silence and a few claps when Gen.G player kills the TH player. You should go watch the Gen.G comms video.
The cheers for TH walkouts were louder than when Gen.G lifted the trophy, all that was heard was a bunch of dead woo's and claps.

Let's not pretend that we haven't seen neutral crowds before. Every crowd has a favorite. CN grand finals wasn't about favoritism. It was about something that has NO PLACE in eSports.

I'm not implying that ridiculous political vendettas are okay, but I'm stating that it is understandable that GenG received less cheers from a home population very sensitive about such topics. I do not condone it but for sympathy's sake I believe it's understandable that they reacted how they did.
Yes, teams with fans are going to get cheers.
Crowd is going to support favorites and you can't really stop them from doing so.
Crowd favorite team got defeated while controversial team won the trophy. Of course it's going to be awkward for the crowd.
Nobody is pretending that neutral crowds are non-existant.

So then why are you reacting negatively to my comment? At least that's what it looks like. If their sensitivity issues, which shouldn't be met with sympathy, is understandable to you then surely my and the Koreans' stance should also be understandable as well? There is a very significant rivalry between both regions, so me saying this shouldn't trigger this sort of response as if I'm in the wrong.

This is not something I'm saying just because they are Chinese. I condemned the Japanese when they did the same to NTH and Meteor back in 2022. I condemned individual players when they attacked others for their identity, even tixx an australian from the recent controversy in JP. Targeted hate bias against an individual's national identity will not be and should not be tolerated. Keep the rivalry in the game.

The original focus of this thread was about how the crowd is muted in comparison to the casters, and #5 brought up how it was the same in Shanghai. You rebuked it and I simply made a response to it.

It's okay man. I just really hate this internalized fight among these three countries. I want everyone to get along but people like Liotakla are making it worse. I remember one of his comments trying to justify the hate Gen.G received by using a dokdo island comparison, so I also advice that you don't listen to his comments on anything regarding this matter.

There was cheers. just not as loud as Heretics or chinese teams because they were clear favorites in china lmfao. Also T1 were cheered on heavily by fans in china because of their LoL team. idk what to tell you dude. go on twitter or sum, i saw vids online of the crowd during geng and other games in real life. It's not as a "library" as you think where the entire stadium was quiet
