This is cope as shit because of nrg vs c9 but fuck riot for not giving optic a spot in franchising. I mean why did they pick EG over optic? I don’t think Eg even had a Valorant team before 2023 and the only other game they are in (to my knowledge) was cs. I mean optic was the second most popular org in 2022 behind only zeta. They won an event got third then got second all in one year. Optic as an org has been around for over a decade and has roots in halo, apex, and are the biggest org in cod history. I mean optic had everything that 100t had but better. Anyways I’m salty about nrg choking harder against c9 than Istanbul grand finals. Fuck riot. Thank you for coming to my TED talk have a good day

I think Riot were mainly looking at the financial state of the organizations who were trying to get into franchising

optc had previous issues with riot on League, optc also mentioned missing the deadline for a document during their podcast so yea

i dont think optic got shortlisted for the program, EG was a last second replacement for G2(carlos incident) iirc

EG is the 4th biggest ORG in esports (at least when it comes to prize money) with only Liquid, OG and Spirit beating them
also they had a Val team since the beginning basically and were very well off financially in 2022-2023 (otherwise they couldntve funded their crazy 10 man roster in val or the 15 man roster in cs)

Also even if Optic had stayed in they wouldve still split up in the exact same way with yay taking the bag from C9 and Marved retiring.
The only thing that wouldve changed is that the team wouldntve been under that absolutely dogshit NRG management thatt has no fucking clue what they are doingg and is just taking players by recent succes, not caring about trials, roles or anything else. But I dont know if its the NRG management or ch0t being braindead so that couldve been a thing in optic as well.
