So it is 2020, you win First Strike NA after beating TSM who I think were the #1 team at that time (I didn't follow Valo much at that time but I saw the finals) and then you bench your primary Jett AWP because you wanted to change the meta where the team doesn't need to have AWP on the Jett necessarily to win and Dicey's main agent was Jett only.
After that you sign Ethan from CS (awesome dude, no hate for him) and you make him play primarily Skye who was coming up into the meta and shift Asuna to Jett but a primary rifler (All good). Over the year, Sentinels keep beating you but atleast you beat all the other teams.
Meanwhile, Dicey has also started playing Skye a lot and is very good at it. You qualify for VCT Berlin, have a great tournament beating two of the strongest teams. You come back, make another big roster change (don't wanna get into that atm) before the qualifiers for the biggest tournament of the year by adding your analyst to the roster and you lose (obviously) and now you're making Nitro play primary Jett AWP (huh?)
Now you make people think, was dropping Steel absolutely necessary before qualifying for the biggest event of the year? Could it not have waited till after LCQ (if you lost) because you had a better chance of winning it with Steel on the roster?
tl; dr : Was there any absolutely necessary reason to drop Steel before LCQ?
P.S. Correct me if I'm wrong about any of these facts
