relegation and promotion

RIOT should introduce relegation and promotion. 2 of the worst teams in AMERICAS (statistically) will play in a tournament style vs Ascension teams from AMERICAS including LATAM and BRAZIL.

Basically the kickoff format where the two relegated teams from VCT would have a "game" in hand, while the ASCENSION teams play against each other and the top 2 of those face the relegated teams. This way, the teams that suck won't just play only 2 games and not have any experience whilst also making the league fair.

EXAMPLE:

FURIA 1 - HEROBASE 2

HeroBase advances to GF

TSM 2 - NRG 1 (don't hate its just a example)

TSM advances to GF

----

LOWER GRANDFINALS

would include NRG and FURIA.

it would also include 2 ASCENSION teams that lost in Semi Finals.

This is not traditional Sports, if that was the case you would have already relegated KC and TH and you would have Apeks instead who are mid af and don't have any fans. this is not like a traditional sport where a team takes years to build, here you can go from worst to best in a heartbeat, it's a matter of finding the right organizations that actually try

KC and TH wouldn't lose in the relegation promotion playoffs, they don't get relegated immediately. Unless they are of course a worse team then they are facing then IG they deserve to get relegated.

Clearly don't get the point. It's not about who deserves what, Kc and TH would have 100% lost against Apeks, but this does not mean they will be worse next year as you can clearly see. It's not about who deserved it, the average level of EMEA would be 10 times worse if that had happened and not only that, so would have the viewers

but some organizations in franchising are not trying to build a good roster and instead only making money (mibr and eg)

Every 4 years riot can choose not to renew contracts, do it then, relegation is terrible

yea i agree that relegation is bad but orgs like mibr definitely dont deserve to stay in the league for that long

The point of franchising is financial stability, being relegated is not financially stable so not a good idea

i think relegation should only happen to orgs that are consistently last and show no improvement, because it’s ruining competitive integrity

but i don’t think any team is intentionally being shit

yes i agree, thats why i said there should be a playoffs to see if they deserve it and not actually relegate them. If you don't care to do better and improve your team then you don't deserve your spot

why would you relegate and org like Sen, Fnatic or PRX if they were not doing will, that would take a massive hit on viewership.

Any team can have a rough year, it’s way too volatile. If you do it based of this split NRG might have been gone

But they wouldn't have, you keep saying MIGHT but clearly FURIA and MIBR are way worse. If it does get to a point where NRG are the worse team in AMERICAS then they deserve to go down???
