Circuit points

I dont get what is the importance of circuit points. Do teams this season qualify to champs based on how many circuit points do they have or it is for something else? (asking for a friend cause i definitely know these)

3 teams out of 4 will qual through regular playoffs
but the 4th team is chosen based on these points

Yeah champs points gives a team a champs spot. Top 3 from split 2 will qualify and the 4th team will be the team with the most champs points out of the remaining teams
