Most tragic anime (episodes)

What is/are some of the most tragic anime or an arc or episode from an anime?

For me it's Fate/Zero S2 Ep 5/6 the kiritsugu arc was so tragic it instantly made him as my top 3 Mc's and made the overall anime so fucking good.

Fate sucks straight up, even his childhood was more sad than this.

For me it's steins gate when Mayuri died first. Then the desperation to save everyone... It's just sad

Hare's death in Guilty Crown (the show isn't great) had really stood out to me when I was younger, but I guess that was probably due to me being a lonely little tin foil hat.

No other tragic anime moments come to mind now but I'm sure there are great ones that I know but can't recall.

quick edit: The last episode of Ishuzoku Reviewers really killed my mood for a bit because I knew that hilarious show was never going to get another season.

Can't really remember since its been ages, but there was like 2 deaths in Parasyte: The Maxim that was quite tragic.

Sunrise's BRIGADOON Marin to Melan is one of the most underrated anime productions.
Those who prefer tragic anime should definitely watch it.
