most schools implement english classes to filipinos and they watch too much cartoons i guess
We were an American colony. The americans made basic education accessible to the masses unlike the spanish. English was made the method of instruction until today.
Also in our constitutiom both english and filipino are our official languages

Colonialism will always be a net negative but what i can say is the spanish were worse
definitely not because the philippine govt. ended up with a huge fucking debt over the US govt. that debt caused our current PH govt become undesirable for the people. the Philippines then were rich and self-sufficient and now half the population is suffering from poverty because the our own government cant afford good QOL for its people.
