Gen.G was not particularly successful in 2023, failing to qualify to any international event, but they were still able to make fourth and third in the Pacific league and the LCQ.

By the end of the season, Gen.G opted to restructure their coaching staff. bail next went to China, where he joined OD Gaming OD Gaming China Rank #12 alongside two former Gen.G players. They did not advance past the qualifying stages of the China Evolution Series.

bail's arrival follows Bilibili's disappointing performance at Kickoff. After defeating NRG Esports twice to make playoffs in Champions 2023, the team was expected to continue improving. They failed to do so, unable to break into the top four at any of the three China Evolution Series main events. For 2024, Bilibili brought in Xpz to replace head coach Jexen, who moved to assistant coach. The change did not pay off, and a top-four finish once again evaded the squad at Kickoff. Xpz was released on March 25.
